Getting hired as a chef
Step
In short
You need to complete three steps in order before you can start working as a chef.
Becoming a chef is not instant — there is a set process you have to follow. Skipping any step means you cannot be hired, so go through them in order.
- Join the group this is required before anything else in the hiring process will work.
- Open the Apply app use it inside the game to submit your application for a chef position.
- Attend a training in the Train app complete the training session to earn your chef qualification and get officially hired.

Core duties on every shift

Cooking, serving, and cleaning are the three pillars of every chef shift, and doing them well is what leads to promotion.
Once you are hired, your work on each shift comes down to three responsibilities. Keeping up with all three is what moves you toward a manager promotion.
- Cook food to match customer orders prepare the right dishes when orders come in.
- Serve customers by bringing food to the correct table.
- Clean the restaurant after serving tidy up so the dining area stays in good shape.

Playing as a customer
Tips
In short
Dining as a customer is a completely separate, valid way to enjoy the game with no hiring required.
You do not have to work as a chef at all. Ordering food, watching it get cooked on the teppanyaki grill right in front of you, and hanging out with friends at a table are their own experience.
Tips worth knowing
- Browse the menu and pick whichever dish you want.
- Watch your chef cook on the hibachi grill in real time; the live cooking performance is a big part of what makes the game fun.
- Sit at a table with friends and roleplay a restaurant outing together.
- NPC customers now fill tables too, so the restaurant feels busy even when the server is quiet.

Common questions
FAQDo I have to become a chef, or can I just eat?
You can play the entire game as a customer without ever applying for a job. Order from the menu, watch the chef cook on the grill in front of you, and enjoy the restaurant with friends. The chef path is an option, not a requirement.
Why won't the Apply app let me submit an application?
The most common reason is that you have not joined the group yet. Group membership is required before the application process works, so join the group first and then return to the Apply app.
How do I reach the manager rank?
Cook orders, serve customers, and clean the restaurant every shift, and your progress toward manager will build up.
What happens if I miss a day during a streak?
Your daily streak resets if you skip a day, so log in every day to keep it going. The streak badges at seven, one hundred, and three hundred and sixty-five days all require unbroken runs.
