How points work and where to spend them

Tips
In short Points are the engine of the whole game — earn them by killing zombies and repairing barricades, then spend them on weapons and new areas.

Every zombie you kill drops points, and so does every barricade board you repair. Once you have enough saved up, you can buy wall weapons, spend at the Mystery Box, upgrade at the Pack-a-Punch machine, or unlock a door to a new area.

Tips worth knowing
  • Kill zombies to earn points.
  • Repair broken barricade boards with B or DPad Left to earn extra points while keeping zombies out.
  • Buy a wall weapon when you have the points — doing so earns the Lock and Load badge.
  • Try the Mystery Box for a chance at powerful or rare weapons, including the Ray Gun.
  • Use the Pack-a-Punch machine to upgrade a weapon you already own into something stronger.
03

Staying alive as the rounds climb

Check
In short Each new round brings tougher zombies, so staying alive is about staying ahead of the difficulty curve.

The game never stops sending waves, and each round hits harder than the last. The round badges — awarded at rounds 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 — all require you to have been in the game from the very start, so never leave and rejoin a session you want credit for.

  • Keep moving rather than holding a single corner, and use Sprint to create distance when a group closes in.
  • Count your ammo before a large group reaches you, and reload during any short break in the action.
  • Round badges require continuous play from the start leaving mid-game disqualifies you.
04

Weapon choice at different stages

Summary
In short The Ray Gun, obtainable from the Mystery Box, is one of the strongest options in the game.

The knife costs no ammo and is always available for emergencies. The Ray Gun, obtainable from the Mystery Box, is one of the strongest options in the game.

  • Knife zero-ammo backup for close-range emergencies when reloading is not an option
  • Mystery Box random weapon draw that can yield the Ray Gun, one of the game's top weapons
  • Pack-a-Punch upgrades an existing weapon into a more powerful version
05

Musical Easter Eggs on Graduation and Research

Step
In short Each map has a hidden musical Easter Egg that rewards dedicated players who track down its trigger.

Two maps each hide a musical Easter Egg. On Graduation you are hunting for 'When Something Is Gone', and on Research the target is 'See You In Hell'.

  1. Load into Graduation for its Easter Egg or Research for its own.
  2. Activate the trigger to start the musical sequence.
