Banana Eats is a horror-lite escape game where runners hide from a killer banana, solve puzzles scattered across the map, and sprint for the exits before time runs out. This guide covers how rounds work, how to handle puzzles as a runner or as the banana, how to manage your health, and how to earn coins and level up faster.
In shortEach puzzle type has a different method, and knowing them before a round means you waste no time figuring them out mid-game.
There are four puzzle types and every map has four or five of them. The banana cannot interact with puzzles but can stand in front of one to slow you down. Once a puzzle is finished, it cannot be changed, so you never have to worry about the banana undoing your work.
Cake
pick up small cake slices lying around the map and carry them to the large plate; you need 7 slices and one is already on the plate at the start, leaving 6 to find from the 8 scattered around.
Valve
click all 3 valves spread across the map until they are fully turned; the timer only drops after all three are done, and each valve counts separately toward daily quests.
Code/Number
find the solution hidden somewhere on the map and type it into the number input; the code and the input can sometimes spawn close together, making this the fastest puzzle when that happens.
Image
flip tiles until all of them are green; do this one alone when you can, because another player touching it can flip tiles back and undo your progress.
In shortHow many hearts you have left should decide whether you play aggressively or defensively.
Runners start with three hearts. Losing a heart gives you a brief speed boost and a short window of invincibility, so you can use that moment to put distance between yourself and the banana. When all three hearts are gone, you are eliminated. In Escape Mode, everyone's health drops to one heart when the exits open, so being at full health going into that final minute does not protect you.
Tips worth knowing
At three hearts, take risks — go for puzzles even if the banana is nearby, since you can absorb a hit and escape.
At two hearts, mix offense and defense — finish nearby puzzles but do not chase down ones in risky areas.
At one heart, play it safe — focus on hiding and staying out of the banana's path rather than completing more puzzles.
Use the invincibility window after a hit to sprint away and find a hiding spot before the effect wears off.

• More Fixes & Improvements!
In shortGood peel placement and map knowledge matter far more than simply chasing runners.
As the Banana, your main tools are bites and banana peels. Peels stun runners who step on them, giving you time to catch up. Placing them strategically at chokepoints is more effective than dropping them randomly. Some maps naturally favor the banana, making them good picks if you want easier rounds.
Tips worth knowing
Drop peels on stairs, doorways, vents, and near puzzle locations — anywhere runners have to pass through.
Ghostly Peels are the strongest peel type: they are hard for runners to spot, stun for 6 seconds, have a reasonable hitbox, and you get 16 of them.
Avoid Small Peels — their 4-second stun and 24-peel count sound useful, but the short stun rarely gives you enough time to close the gap.
Avoid Big Peels as well — only 10 available and a 7-second stun is barely better than Ghostly while costing you 6 extra peels.
On Banana Manor, trap the stairwells with peels — runners have to use the stairs constantly, so hits there are nearly guaranteed.
Banana Backrooms, Banana Manor with trapped stairs, and Garbage Graveyard all favor the Banana — learn them well.

Map difficulty at a glance
Table
In shortPicking the right map for your role can make a round much easier.
Not every map is balanced between runners and the banana. Large maps give runners more room to hide and spread out, while maze-like or stairwell-heavy maps give the banana more opportunities. Knowing which side a map favors helps you decide how aggressively to play.
Banana-favored
Banana Backrooms, Garbage Graveyard, Banana Manor (when stairs are trapped with peels)
Runner-favored
Peeled High School, Banana Pop Parlor, Banana Fun Bash Arcade, Banana Manor (when stairs are not trapped)
Roughly even
Plantain Cabins, Sinister Supermarket

Common questions
FAQ
Can I unlock all the skins without spending Robux?
Yes — all 500-plus skins can be purchased with coins earned just by playing rounds.
What happens when I finish a puzzle? Does it give away my position?
Completing any puzzle causes a jigsaw symbol to appear above it for a short time, visible to both runners and the Banana. Move away from the puzzle immediately after finishing it so the Banana cannot come straight to you.
Is the image puzzle really safe to do alone?
It is the most straightforward puzzle in the game, but another player touching the tiles can flip them back to red and reset your progress. If someone else is nearby, coordinate or wait for them to leave before starting.
Do the valve turns count toward daily quests even though it is one puzzle?
Yes — the game counts each individual valve as a separate puzzle completion for the purposes of daily quests, so finishing all three valves credits you with three completed puzzles.
