Basic controls

Check
In short Learning all five keys before you fight gives you a real advantage.

Every action in combat runs through five keys.

  • E blocks incoming attacks.
  • Q dashes or dodges, letting you reposition quickly.
  • F locks the camera onto a target so you never lose sight of them mid-fight.
  • R toggles the lock on and off if you need to free the camera.
  • T consumes a corpse, but only if you are playing a demon-type character.

Moving between stages with biwa transportation

Warn
In short You cannot reach several areas at all unless a biwa owner is present in your server.

Some locations in the game are only accessible through biwa transportation. The system only works when another player who owns the biwa is in the same server as you.

Worth watching out for
If you cannot move to a stage, check whether any player in your server owns the biwa if none does, the option will not work.
Switch servers and look for one where a biwa owner is already present.
03

Earning badges from powerful enemies

Step
In short Every boss-tier badge is awarded automatically the moment you share a server with the right enemy.

There are ten badges tied to powerful enemies appearing in your server. You do not have to defeat them — just being in the same server is enough to receive the badge. The enemies range from the Drum Demon up through Upper Ranks 1 through 6 and the Demon King.

  1. The badge registers while you are present in the same server as the enemy.
  2. Each Upper Rank from 1 to 6 has its own badge.
  3. Sharing a server with the Demon King earns the Bloodthirsty badge.
  4. Two badges (Killer Expression and Bloody Grip) come from older versions of Upper Rank 4 and Upper Rank 6 respectively.
04

Server size and co-op

Summary

Each server holds up to forty players. That headroom supports both competitive and cooperative play at the same time.

  • Server cap 40 players per server
  • Play styles supported PvP and co-op both run in the same server

Glossary

Glossary
Biwa transportation
The only way to reach several stages in the game — it works only when a player who owns the biwa is in your server.
Lock-on
Pressing F fixes the camera on an enemy so it follows them automatically during a fight.
Upper Rank
A tier of powerful enemies numbered 1 through 6, each tied to its own badge when they appear in your server.
Demon King
Sharing a server with the Demon King earns the Bloodthirsty badge.
Consume Corpse
A demon-type exclusive action triggered with T that uses a fallen enemy's body.

Common questions

FAQ

How do I reach stages I cannot access?

You need biwa transportation, which only works when a player who owns the biwa is in your server. If nobody in your current server has it, switch to a different server and look for one where a biwa owner is already present.

Do I have to fight a boss to get its badge?

No — every boss-tier badge is awarded just for being in the same server as the enemy.

Can non-demon characters use the T key?

No. Consuming a corpse with T is exclusive to demon-type characters.

How many players can be in one server?

Each server holds a maximum of forty players.
