Mining underground

Tips
In short Going underground is necessary for the better materials that surface resources cannot provide.

The forest floor gives you wood and stone, but more advanced crafting requires ores that only exist below ground. Keep your farm running while you mine so food stays stocked while you are busy underground.

Tips worth knowing
  • Craft your mining tools on the surface before you dig.
  • Surface materials and underground ores serve different crafting purposes, so you need both.
  • A working crop farm above ground keeps you fed during long mining sessions.
03

Day-count badges

Table
In short Surviving longer unlocks rarer badges, with the 100-day mark being the highest recognition the game offers.

Every badge below is earned by surviving the listed number of days. The 100-day badge marks you as a true survivor.

  • Come back every day because the challenge content changes on a daily basis.
05

When survival keeps falling apart

Warn
In short Almost every early death traces back to one of three gaps: food, tools, or shelter.

If you are dying repeatedly or struggling to push past the first few days, run through this list before you try anything else.

Worth watching out for
Check your food supply first if berries and crops are low, hunger will drain you before any animal gets the chance.
Look at your tools missing a key crafted item means you cannot gather or fight effectively.
Confirm you have a shelter without one, wildlife can reach you with no cover to retreat to.
If your tools feel weak, head underground for ores that allow better equipment to be crafted.
