Overview

Death Note is a PvP game inspired by the Death Note anime, where one side plays as KIRA and uses a Death Note to eliminate targets, while the other side tries to survive. This guide covers how both sides play, how to complete the obby, and which badges you can still earn.

How the game works

Summary

In short Every match splits players into KIRA and survivors, and the Death Note is the tool that decides who wins.

At the start of a match, the game assigns you a role. If you get KIRA, you hold the Death Note. If you are on the other side, your job is to stay alive. Six game modes and five maps give each session a different feel.

KIRA　writes a target's name and cause of death in the Death Note
Cause of death　must be specified along with a time and location for the effect to trigger
Game modes　six rule sets to choose from before a match begins
Maps　five stages where matches take place
Max players　eighteen per match

In short The obby and mystery challenges give you goals outside of standard PvP matches.

Alongside the main PvP matches, the game includes an obstacle course and mystery content. Completing them rewards specific badges and adds variety between matches.

Locate the obby built by evilkeven1245 finishing it awards the Beat The Obby! badge
Look into the Ghost Stories content solving the mystery of the haunted tales earns the Ghost Stories badge
Check whether the Riddle Event 2026 is still running completing it awards the Solving Hacker Mystery badge
Skip the Riddler easter egg and the 2024 Egg Hunt if you have not done them both have ended and their badges are no longer obtainable

Glossary

Death Note: The notebook at the center of the game — KIRA writes a target's name, cause of death, location, and time in it to eliminate that player.
KIRA: The role assigned to the player who holds the Death Note and must use it to eliminate targets and win the match.
Trigger conditions: The specific location and time that KIRA sets in the Death Note; the effect only activates when both are met.
Obby: An obstacle course inside the game; finishing it earns the Beat The Obby! badge.
Game mode: One of six rule sets you pick in the lobby before a match starts.

Common questions

FAQ

How do I earn the Eliminated The Creator badge?

You need to be in a match where the game's creator is also playing. Kill them using the Death Note as KIRA, and then win that match as KIRA. Both conditions must be met in the same match.

Are any badges permanently locked?

Yes — the Riddler easter egg badge and the EGG HUNT 2024 badge have both ended and cannot be obtained anymore. The other five badges are still available.

How many people can play at once?

A match supports up to eighteen players. The game currently has six modes and five maps.
