About

Overview

Tower of Fun is a Roblox obstacle game where you race up a randomly generated tower before the timer runs out. Beat stages to earn coins, then spend those coins in the shop on mutators and effects. This guide covers how to get started, survive the climb, and make the most of what you earn.

Getting started with Easy Mode

Step
In short Turning on Easy Mode before your first run removes lava as a threat and lets you focus on learning the controls.

When you load in, a randomly generated tower is already waiting for you. Your only goal each round is to reach the top before the timer hits zero. Easy Mode gives you full immunity to all lava, which makes it the right place to start. Once you can reach the halfway point consistently, you're ready to try the full tower.

  1. Turn on Easy Mode so lava tiles won't knock you back.
  2. Spot the halfway point the tower has a distinct midpoint; aim for it first rather than the top.
  3. Attempt the top once the halfway point feels easy, push all the way up to complete your first tower.
  4. Collect your coins finishing a stage rewards you with coins you can take to the shop.

Surviving the climb

Tips
In short Steady movement and timer awareness matter more than rushing, especially on a normal-mode run.

Each tower is filled with platforms and obstacles, and in normal mode a single lava touch ends your run. The timer is always running. The Christmas update added double jump, which gives you an extra jump while airborne. Aim for the halfway point first — the Tower Half Way badge marks that milestone — then push on to the top for the Tower Complete badge.

Tips worth knowing
  • Glance at the timer regularly so you can judge when to speed up.
  • In normal mode, treat every lava tile as a hard stop and route around it.
  • In Easy Mode, ignore lava entirely.
03

Spending coins in the shop

Table
In short Coins can go toward mutators that change how your character performs or effects that change how your character looks — both are bought from the same shop.

Every stage you clear drops coins, and the shop is where those coins go. There are two distinct things to buy. You don't need to spend real money to progress — clearing stages repeatedly builds up enough coins to keep buying. The Christmas Pack is available for purchase.

Mutatorsupgrades that change your character's abilities, earned by spending coins in the shop.
Effectscosmetic items that change how your character looks, also bought with coins.
First purchase badgebuying either one for the first time unlocks First Mutator or First Effect.
04

Checkpoints and round changes

Check
In short Knowing how checkpoints and round endings work stops you from losing progress unexpectedly.

Checkpoints were fixed in the Christmas update and now work correctly in new servers. When someone wins a round, they no longer speed the timer up for everyone else — you get the full remaining time to keep climbing. If the game shuts down, it means a bug fix or update is being pushed; just wait and reconnect.

  • Finish your climb even after someone else wins their victory no longer cuts your time short.
  • Reconnect after a shutdown rather than worrying about it; shutdowns signal maintenance, not an error on your end.
05

Badges worth keeping in mind

Summary
In short The five badges map almost exactly to the natural progression of a new player, so chasing them gives you a built-in goal list.

None of the badges require anything unusual — they reward actions you'd take anyway. Collecting all five means you've joined, reached the midpoint, finished a full tower, and bought something from both sides of the shop.

  • Thanks For Playing joining the game for the first time.
  • Tower Half Way reaching the midpoint of any tower.
  • Tower Complete climbing all the way to the top and finishing a tower.
  • First Mutator buying any mutator from the shop with your coins.
  • First Effect buying any effect from the shop with your coins.

Common questions

FAQ

Do I need to spend real money to enjoy the game?

No. Every stage you clear gives you coins, and coins are all you need to buy mutators and effects from the shop. The Christmas Pack is available to purchase.

What happens if I touch lava?

In normal mode, touching lava ends your run. In Easy Mode you have full immunity to all lava, so it has no effect on you.

The game shut down while I was playing — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong on your end. A shutdown means the developers are pushing a bug fix or update. Wait a moment, then reconnect.

Should I buy a mutator or an effect first?

Buying one of each earns you the First Mutator and First Effect badges, so you'll want both eventually.
