About

Overview

Blair is a co-op ghost-hunting game inspired by Phasmophobia, where you and up to three friends explore haunted locations, gather evidence, and identify which type of ghost you are dealing with — ranging from Demons to Spirits. This guide walks you through your first hunt, how to collect evidence properly, how to handle harder difficulties, and what the game's achievements reveal about its deepest challenges.

Your first hunt, start to finish

Step
In short Getting through your first match cleanly sets you up for every harder challenge ahead.

Blair drops you into a haunted location with one clear job: find enough evidence to name the ghost. Voice chat is strongly recommended by the developers, so get a mic ready before you queue with friends.

  1. Collect three pieces of evidence use your equipment to detect and photograph what the ghost leaves behind.
  2. Photograph the ghost capturing a picture counts toward objectives and is required for a perfect run.
  3. Name the ghost once you have enough evidence, submit your guess before leaving.
  4. Get out alive surviving your first hunt earns the Survivor badge and sets the stage for tougher runs.

Evidence gathering and the objective list

Tips
In short Completing all three objectives in a single match, not just guessing the ghost, is what separates a basic clear from a skilled one.

Every match asks you to collect evidence and complete a set of objectives. The Spirit Board, Summoning Circle, Tarot Cards, and Music Box are all interactive tools in the location — using them contributes to your objectives. The camera is essential: photographing the ghost, a Burning Crucifix, the Boo Boo Doll, and the Cursed Object are all required for a perfect game.

Tips worth knowing
  • Use the Spirit Board to communicate with the ghost and work toward the Medium badge.
  • Activate the Summoning Circle if you find it — it draws the ghost out and counts as an objective.
  • Play the Music Box when you locate it, but be ready, because it wakes the ghost up.
  • Draw from the Tarot Cards to unlock that objective.
  • Take a photo of the ghost itself whenever you get the chance — it is needed for both Paranormal Photographer and Perfect Game.
  • Photograph the Burning Crucifix, the Boo Boo Doll, and the Cursed Object in the same run if you are aiming for a perfect game.

Difficulty tiers and what they demand

Table
In short Each step up in difficulty adds restrictions that punish any mistake, so climb the ladder steadily.

Blair has distinct difficulty levels, and the achievements make clear exactly what the hardest ones require. Nightmare mode with all challenges active is the game's true test — the Challenger badge demands you survive it, guess correctly, and finish all optional objectives without dying. The Hotel Hero badge goes even further, requiring a correct guess, a ghost photo, all objectives completed, and zero deaths on Nightmare with all challenges on. True Hotel Hero hints that the developers found a way to make even that harder. Blood Moon is its own special scenario where completing everything with no deaths is described by the developers themselves as near impossible.

Nightmareall challenges active; dying ends your shot at the top badges.
Blood Moona special mode where a clean run with no deaths and all objectives completed is described as near impossible.
Hotel Hero tierNightmare, all challenges, correct guess, ghost photo, all objectives, zero deaths including cat kit and revives.
School Mastera speed challenge requiring a correct guess and all objectives on the School map in under seven minutes.
Tidewalker / Scoutmastermap-specific or challenge-specific completions that prove mastery of particular scenarios.
05

Staying alive during a hunt

Warn
In short Dying loses you badge progress for the hardest achievements and cannot be undone by revives on Hotel Hero tier.

When the ghost begins an active hunt, it can kill players. Dying earns you the Shame badge, but it also locks you out of Business As Usual, Perfect Game, Blood Moon Survivor, and Hotel Hero in that same run. On Hotel Hero and True Hotel Hero, even revives and the cat kit do not save your badge progress — not a single player can die.

Worth watching out for
On Nightmare with all challenges active, the margin for error is essentially zero.
Revives do not protect your Hotel Hero or True Hotel Hero badge treat every life as the only one.
06

Building your ghost-guessing accuracy over time

Check
In short Guessing correctly across many matches is the long-term progression track Blair builds its achievement ladder around.

Blair tracks every correct identification you make. The badge milestones sit at 5, 25, 50, and 100 correct guesses, so improving your accuracy match after match is a genuine progression system. Ghost types range from Demons to Spirits, and each leaves a distinct combination of clues.

  • Have you collected all three pieces of evidence before guessing, rather than going early on two?
  • Have you shared your findings with teammates so someone else can catch a clue you missed?
  • Have you tried every interactive tool Spirit Board, Tarot Cards, Music Box — to provoke additional evidence?

Co-op roles and communication

Tips
In short Splitting responsibilities across the team is the fastest path to completing all objectives before the ghost becomes dangerous.

Blair supports up to four players, and the developers offer voice-chat-only lobbies specifically because real-time communication matters.

Tips worth knowing
  • Assign one player to photography so the ghost and all required objects get captured without duplication.
  • Call out paranormal events the instant they happen rather than investigating alone and reporting later.
  • Use the VC radio lobbies the game provides if your group wants voice-only coordination without text chat noise.
09

Horror elements and headphone use

Warn
In short Blair's horror is intentional — prepare accordingly.

The game explicitly warns players to expect horror elements, flashing lights, and fear. Headphones and maximum graphics settings are strongly recommended by the developers. Mobile and console play is fully supported.

Worth watching out for
Flashing lights are part of the experience check the warning before your first session.
Headphones and maximum graphics are strongly recommended by the developers.

Common questions

FAQ

What do I need to take photos of for a perfect game?

You need a photo of the ghost itself, plus photos of the Burning Crucifix, the Boo Boo Doll, and the Cursed Object — all in the same run. On top of that, no one in your party can die, you must guess the ghost correctly, and all objectives must be completed.

Does the School Master challenge have a time limit?

Yes — you must guess the ghost correctly, finish all objectives on the School map, and leave the match in under seven minutes.

What makes Hotel Hero harder than the Challenger badge?

Challenger requires surviving and guessing correctly on Nightmare with all challenges active while completing all optional objectives. Hotel Hero adds a mandatory ghost photo and a strict zero-death rule that explicitly states cat kit uses and revives still count as deaths, making it a significantly tougher achievement.
