About

Overview

Escape Running Head is a horror obstacle game where you run through mazes, ice fields, a dark dungeon, a lava stage, and more to escape a giant chasing face named Felipe — across 12 stages plus a boss fight. This guide covers every stage, how to handle each type of enemy face, and what to do when you get stuck.

How to handle different face types

Table
In short Small faces can be jumped over; large, combined, or limbed faces need to be lured to one side so you can slip past the other.

Stage 1 alone contains 15 faces, and later stages add blowing, jumping, flying, frozen, and giant varieties. Knowing which approach fits each type saves you from repeating the same mistake.

Small facejump over its head or draw it toward you and cut past the other side
Giant facenever jump it; pull it to one side, wait for distance, then slip through
Combined or limbed facelure it sideways and pass the opposite side without jumping
Blowing Headwait until it stops blowing before you advance

Stage-by-stage tips for stages 1 through 8

Step
In short Each of the first eight stages introduces a new mechanic, and learning what is unique about each one is the fastest way through.

Stages 1 through 8 move from a simple concrete maze through dark corridors, rotating floors, side-scrolling, and a full snow-and-ice level.

  1. Stage 1 hug the wall past the three-face hallway, stay near the wall around the giant face and the cylinder, and jump the hole on the staircase rather than walking into it
  2. Stage 8 pass Blowing Heads only when the wind stops, hold jump on the conveyor section, hop off breaking ice immediately, and on the final slide follow the red-line path or hold jump and steer carefully
03

Stage-by-stage tips for stages 9 through 12

Step
In short The final four stages each give you a new control scheme.

Stages 9 through 12 swap standard running for lava platforms, rotating cylinders, a bicycle, and a laser-equipped airship.

  1. Stage 9 wait for a moving lava platform to finish rising before jumping to it, and use the left cannon when you reach the three-cannon section
  2. Stage 10 hold a safe position and wait for the enemy-free face of a rotating cylinder to come around before moving onto it
  3. Stage 11 straighten the bike toward the center before hitting an acceleration block, and wait behind a moving platform until the next one is close before riding forward
  4. Stage 12 hold the spacebar to fire the laser continuously, and keep the airship near the middle of the screen to avoid hitting the top or bottom edges

Boss fight basics

Tips
In short Move in a circle around the boss while firing the bazooka, and spread out if you are playing with others.

After clearing all stages, touch the glowing entrance to warp into the boss arena. A bazooka is ready for you from the moment you arrive. The boss fight area also has a shop where coins can be spent on accessories, but keep that closed while the fight is active.

Tips worth knowing
  • Touch the glowing entrance to enter the boss arena
  • Aim the bazooka's cursor directly at the boss and fire continuously
  • Keep moving in a circle rather than standing still in front of the boss
  • Check both the boss's position and your own movement direction alternately so you do not back into a wall
  • In multiplayer, spread out so a single boss attack cannot wipe everyone at once
  • Save the accessory shop for after the fight, not during it
05

What to check when you keep dying in the same spot

Warn
In short If the same obstacle keeps killing you, the problem is almost always route, timing, or the wrong response to that face type.

Repeating the same path rarely produces a different result. If the game feels laggy and faces seem to teleport, lower Roblox's graphics one step at a time or rejoin a less crowded server.

Worth watching out for
Trying the same route again without changing anything will usually give the same death look for a wall gap or a different corridor first
If a giant or combined face keeps catching you, check whether you are still trying to jump over it instead of luring it sideways
If a checkpoint does not seem to be saving, go back and walk into its center until you see it react
If movement feels stuttery or faces jump position suddenly, lower graphics quality or switch to a server with fewer players
06

Free-to-play reach and paid items

Summary
In short Every stage and the boss fight are fully free; paid items make movement easier but are not required to finish the game.

All 12 stages and the boss fight are open to every player at no cost, and multiplayer is also free. The shop sells movement aids such as a double jump, grapple gun, jetpack, skateboard, and stage-skip tickets. None of these are needed to reach the end. If you do spend Robux, confirm with a parent whether the item is permanent or a one-time use.

  • All 12 stages free
  • Boss fight free
  • Multiplayer free
  • Movement aids in the shop paid, optional
  • Stage-skip tickets paid, not needed for normal play
  • Permanent vs. one-time items check with a parent before buying

Common questions

FAQ

Can I play through all 12 stages alone?

Yes, every stage is accessible solo.

Is this game scary for younger players?

The game features a giant face that suddenly charges at you and a dark maze stage where faces are lit up close, so it can be startling. Turning the volume down and playing with a friend can reduce the intensity.

Do I need paid items to finish the later stages?

No — all 12 stages can be completed using only the basic move and jump controls along with each stage's built-in mechanics. Paid items like the jetpack and double jump make movement easier but are not required for any stage.
