About

Overview

JOVIAL Playground is an exploration adventure game built around dreamcore and weirdcore visuals, developed by ROSKAA123. You wander through a series of strange areas, each with its own atmosphere, uncovering hidden rooms and earning badges along the way. This guide helps you understand what to expect before you start, where to look when you get stuck, and which badges are actually reachable.

01

What to know before you start

Warn
In short Check these content warnings before you load in so nothing catches you off guard.

The game contains blood, teeth, bugs, eyes, trypophobia-triggering imagery, dark visuals, and loud sudden sounds. There are no jumpscares or screamers, but the loud sounds alone can startle you if your volume is high. The game can also run slowly on lower-end devices, so if things feel choppy, that is a known issue. VR is supported if you have a compatible headset.

Worth watching out for
If you are sensitive to imagery involving holes or clustered patterns, the trypophobia warning applies to you
On a low-end device, expect slowdown
VR players can jump straight in; the game officially supports it

Areas to find and badges to earn

Check
In short The badge list tells you exactly which areas exist, so use it as your exploration checklist.

There are eleven badges in total, and each one marks a distinct place or event in the game. Several of them are named after locations — the employees-only room, the sewers, outside, the past, the dream world, and a room full of dust and boxes. Reaching these places is the core loop of the game. Three badges are currently unobtainable, so do not spend time chasing those.

  • Employees only Room find the restricted area and enter it
  • Sewers make your way down to the decaying sewer area
  • Outside locate the exit that leads outside
  • Past explore long enough to reach the area tied to time passing
  • Answer, Death, Gone too soon three more reachable badges tied to specific moments in the game
03

Unobtainable badges at a glance

Table
In short Skip these three badges — they cannot be earned in the current version of the game.

These badges exist in the game's badge list but are marked unobtainable, meaning no current action in the game will unlock them.

Finding hidden areas when you are stuck

Step
In short When you hit a wall, slow down and check every corner methodically rather than retracing the same path.

The game hides its areas rather than signposting them. The badge descriptions are your best clues — they hint at what kind of place or action is required without spelling it out. Curiosity is rewarded, and the Dust and Boxes badge description says exactly that: curiosity will take you places you should never go.

  1. Open your badge list compare what you have earned against the full list to see which locations you have not reached yet
  2. Look for restricted or unusual spaces the employees-only room badge suggests an area that feels off-limits
  3. Go downward the sewers badge implies a route that takes you below the main level
  4. Find a way outside at least one path leads to an exterior area
