Getting started in the lobby

Step
In short Picking a mode and reading its rules before the round starts puts you ahead of players who jump in blind.

When you first load in, you land in the lobby where you choose which game mode to play. Each mode has its own rules and win condition, so reading the description before the round begins saves a lot of confusion. Rounds run in a cycle, and a server holds around fifteen players at a time.

  1. Choose a mode tap the mode you want from the twelve available in the lobby.
  2. Read the rules screen check the description that appears before the round so you know the win condition.

How the game modes split into types

Table
In short Knowing which style of mode you are in tells you whether to hunt, hide, or just outlast everyone else.

The twelve modes fall into a few clear styles. Murder-mystery modes ask you to figure out who the killer is, or to play as the killer without getting caught. Survival modes like Musical Chairs have you competing to be the last one standing under time pressure or shrinking resources. Knife Tag is a chase mode where one player hunts and everyone else runs.

Murder-mysteryfind the killer, or survive as the killer without being identified.
Musical Chairshold a seat when the music stops or you are out.
Knife Tagthe knife holder chases; runners try to survive the time limit.

Cosmetic skins and how to get them

Tips
In short Skins change only your appearance, so earning them through events and missions is worth the time even if you never spend Robux.

Breaking Point 2 has hundreds of cosmetic skins. None of them affect how your character performs, so the only reason to chase them is looks. In-game currency earned through play can be spent on skins directly. Seasonal events and completed missions also hand out skins as rewards, meaning free-to-play players can build up a solid collection over time.

Tips worth knowing
  • Skins are purely cosmetic and do not change gameplay in any way.
  • Spend in-game currency earned from playing to buy skins you want.
  • Complete missions to earn skins as direct rewards.
  • Log in during seasonal events, which run frequently, to pick up limited skins.
  • All twelve game modes are fully playable without buying any skin.
04

Playing with friends

Check
In short Joining a friend's server and enabling voice chat are the two things worth sorting out before you start a session together.

Breaking Point 2 supports Roblox's built-in voice chat, so you can talk to friends while playing. Follow a friend through Roblox's join feature to land on the same server, then pick the same mode together.

  • Roblox voice chat is turned on in your account settings before launching the game.
  • You have joined your friend's server using Roblox's follow or join feature rather than a random server.
  • You and your friends have chosen the same game mode in the lobby.

Common questions

FAQ

Can a complete beginner pick this up quickly?

Yes. Each mode shows a rules screen before the round begins, so you always know what you are supposed to do.

Do skins make you better at the game?

No. Skins change only your character's appearance and have no effect on gameplay. You can use a default look and compete on exactly the same level as anyone else.

Can I play all twelve modes without spending anything?

All twelve game modes are completely free to play. You can also earn cosmetic skins through in-game currency, missions, and seasonal events without spending Robux.

How do I join the same server as a friend?

Use Roblox's built-in follow or join feature to land on your friend's server. Once you are both in, choose the same mode in the lobby.
