Your first move when a round starts
StepWhen you join a round, the game assigns you to either the human team or the zombie team automatically — you cannot choose. Check the role display on your screen straight away, because humans and zombies have completely different goals. Once you know which side you are on, look at the information panel at the top of the screen to see your current objective.
- Check your role look at the on-screen role display the second you spawn so you know which side you are on.
- Read the objective panel the top of the screen shows your team's current goal.
- Look around the map get a feel for where you are and what is near you before you start moving.
- Watch your teammates see what the people on your side are already doing and follow their lead.
Winning as a human
CheckHumans have two ways to win: craft the cure and use it on zombies, or hunt down and kill every zombie. Crafting the cure is the more practical route, so spend your first moments searching the lab for the materials you need and carrying them to the crafting area. At the same time, keep an eye on the isolation door, because zombies will try to break through it to reach you.
- Search the lab for cure materials hidden around the map.
- Carry those materials to the designated crafting area.
- Complete the cure and use it on zombies to end the round.
- Defend the isolation door so zombies cannot break out and attack.
- If you die while infected, you become a zombie.
Winning as a zombie
StepZombies start locked inside an isolated area, so your first priority is always the door. Once you are out, find humans and attack them — any human you successfully infect switches to your side, which makes your team stronger as the round goes on. You can also choose to play peacefully.
- Focus on the isolation door team up with other zombies and attack it together until it breaks.
- Hunt humans explore the lab and close in on any humans you find.
- Infect, do not just attack turning a human into a zombie adds to your team's numbers.
Teamwork tips for both sides
TipsWhether you are human or zombie, acting as a group beats going it alone every time. These habits help on either side of the fight.
- Use text chat to call out where materials are or where zombies have broken through.
- Zombies should pile onto the same door rather than spreading attacks across different ones.
- Playing with friends makes coordination much easier than relying on strangers.
What to check when you keep losing
CheckIf a round is not going your way, run through this list before the next one starts.
- Confirm you know the win condition for your side cure and survive, or break out and infect.
- Make sure you have not missed important parts of the map, such as where materials spawn or where the isolation door is.
- Check whether you are moving with teammates or wandering on your own.

Common questions
FAQCan I choose to be a human or a zombie?
No — the game assigns your role automatically at the start of each round.
What happens if I die as a human while I am infected?
If you die while infected, you become a zombie for the rest of that round.
The zombie team feels overwhelming. How do humans push back?
Focus on completing the cure rather than fighting zombies one by one. Defending the isolation door buys time while materials are gathered.
