Getting started in FNFMA

Step

In short Your first session goes smoothly if you spend your starting currency on a mod you actually want to play.

Every new player receives 500 FunkCredits the first time they log in. Before you jump into a rap battle, take a moment to browse the mod list and pick something that catches your eye. Rooms hold up to 35 players, so you can invite a crowd of friends or join a public session.

Buy a mod purchase one that interests you and load into it.
Set your keybinds on PC or console, remap the arrow keys to whatever feels comfortable before your first match.
Invite friends share your room so others can join; up to 35 players fit in one session.

In short FunkCredits accumulate on their own every minute you are in the game.

FunkCredits are the only currency you need in FNFMA, and you earn them automatically every minute just by playing. The rate you earn at depends on any passes you have active, plus a free XP multiplier that everyone gets during the weekend.

Tips worth knowing

FunkCredits build up automatically every minute, so simply staying in the game earns you more.
Playing between Friday and Sunday gives every player a free XP multiplier, which increases how fast you earn credits.
Active passes raise your earning rate on top of the weekend bonus.
If you want to unlock several mods at once without waiting, you can purchase extra FunkCredits directly.
All mod prices reflect how much time and effort went into making them.

Glossary

FunkCredits: The in-game currency used to buy mods; earned automatically every minute and also purchasable directly.
Mod: A bundle of FNF character animations and music that you purchase with FunkCredits and then play in rap battles.
XP Multiplier: A free bonus given to every player from Friday through Sunday that increases the rate at which FunkCredits are earned.
