⬆ GET TO THE TOP! ⬆ Guide: How a round works
About
OverviewGet To The Top is a multiplayer climbing game where every round you race up a randomly generated tower and try to reach the top before everyone else. Along the way you place blocks and planks to bridge gaps, drop mines to slow rivals down, and spend earned points on shop upgrades that make the whole climb easier. This guide covers the basics of climbing, how to earn and spend points, and how to get past the spots where most players get stuck.

How a round works
SummaryEach round generates a different tower layout, so the path you used last time will not be there this time. Every player in the session is climbing the same tower at the same time, which means the race starts the moment the round does.
- Goal reach the top of the randomly generated tower before anyone else
- Points from mines you also earn points each time another player walks into a mine you placed
- Round length one tower per round, then a new one generates and it starts again
- Saved progress your points and any shop items you have bought carry over between rounds and sessions

Placing blocks, trusses, and planks
TipsBlocks, trusses, and planks let you build a path across sections of the tower you cannot jump across on your own. The catch is that your supply per round is capped, so burning them all early leaves you stranded later.
- Save pieces for the biggest drops — a small jump you can make on your own does not need a plank
- Watch other climbers — if someone ahead of you is taking a route that looks clear, following it saves your own pieces
Using mines to earn extra points
StepMines are offensive items you place in other players' paths. When a rival walks into one, their movement is disrupted and you receive points for the hit.
- Collect the points each hit adds to your total, stacking up over multiple rounds even if you do not finish first
- Expect mines in return other players will do the same to you, so watch the ground as you climb and be ready to go around
Spending points in the shop
TipsThe shop sells upgrades you buy with points. Every purchase is permanent — you do not have to re-buy anything in a later round. The priciest item in the shop, according to its badge description, is the strongest power-up available.
- Speed Boost and Jump Boost are purchasable with points
- Build toward mid-tier items — the Boxing Gloves, Chicken Mode, Heli Hat 2000, Colour Pistol, Hoverboard, Lightning Skates, and Magnet Force are all buyable with points
- Aim for Sucker Puncher 2000 — the badge notes it costs a lot of points
- Save for Star Boost last — the badge calls it the most expensive item in the game and describes it as a godlike power-up
- You never need to spend real money — every shop item is purchased with in-game points you earn by playing
Getting unstuck mid-climb
CheckIf you keep falling from the same spot, there are a few things worth checking before you spend more pieces or more time on the same approach.
- Count your remaining pieces if you are out of blocks and trusses, a section that needs one becomes a routing problem, not a jumping problem
- Look for a mine if something invisible keeps stopping you, another player has placed a mine there and you need to go around it
Shop items and their badges
TableAll prices are paid in points earned in-game. The Star Boost is explicitly the most expensive item; the Sucker Puncher 2000 also costs a large amount of points according to its badge description.

Common questions
FAQDo I lose my points or shop items if I leave the game?
No. Both your points and your purchased shop items are saved when you leave. Everything will be exactly where you left it when you come back.
Is it against the rules to place mines on other players?
Not at all — disrupting other players with mines is a core part of the game. You earn points every time someone hits one.
What happens if I run out of blocks mid-climb?
You simply cannot place any more for the rest of that round.
