Fling Things and People Guide: The grab control, explained simply
About
OverviewFling Things and People is a physics sandbox on Roblox where you grab chairs, sofas, and other players and launch them as far as possible. There are no missions or win conditions — the whole point is the chaos. This guide covers the grab controls, how to earn coins, the dangerous spots to avoid, and the advanced throws that separate beginners from veterans.

The grab control, explained simply
StepClick once (or press E) to extend your grab line toward a nearby object or player. Move your camera to aim, then click again to release and send whatever you caught flying. The grab line has a maximum reach of 20 studs, so if something is not responding, close the distance and try again.
- Move close to your target walk within 20 studs or the grab line will not reach.
- Grab the object click once or press E to latch on.
- Aim with your camera the direction you release depends entirely on where your camera is pointing.
- Release click a second time to fling your target.
The three areas of the map
TableThe map has three distinct zones, each with its own feel. The barn and log cabin areas are relatively open and good for practising throws on objects.
| Barn | open space good for practising throws on furniture |
| Log cabin | another accessible area for casual flinging |
| Factory | competitive hotspot, home to the two purple venom pits underneath the building |
The venom pits
WarnUnder the factory building are two holes filled with purple liquid. Falling in, or being flung in by another player, starts a damage-over-time effect.
Earning coins from slot machines
StepCoins come from slot machines placed around the map, and only from slot machines. Each one can be spun roughly once every fifteen minutes, paying out between 50 and 150 coins per spin — 100 is the most common result. Because the machines cool down independently, hitting every machine in sequence means you are almost never waiting. Spend the coins at the Toy Shop to buy furniture and other items.
- Find every slot machine map out their locations on your first session so you know your route.
- Spin each machine collect your coins before moving on.
- Move to the next machine do not wait at one that is cooling down when others are ready.
- Return after fifteen minutes loop back to the first machine and repeat the rotation.
- Spend at the Toy Shop coins buy furniture, toys, and other objects to place and fling.
Private plots
CheckThere are five private plots on the map, and they go to whoever claims them first after each server starts. Once you have one, you can arrange items and invite friends to use the same space as a meeting point.
- Log in and head for a plot immediately first come, first served.
- Use the Roblox friends list to find your friend's session and join it, then meet at your plot.
- Invite friends to gather at your plot so you can build and fling together.
Advanced throwing techniques
TipsThe controls are simple, but players who put in practice time discover that there is real depth to how far and how precisely you can fling.
- Palette flying — grab a large, flat palette and run; the physics will lift you off the ground and carry you across wide sections of the map.
- Backwards-walk throw — hold a grabbed object while walking backwards to build momentum, then turn and release at the apex for extra distance.
- Camera-spin throw — rotate the camera quickly while holding something to add centrifugal force and push it farther than a static release would.
- Terrain use — launching someone toward a venom pit is more reliable when you account for nearby slopes and ledges that redirect their path.
- Memorise palette spawn points — knowing where palettes appear means you spend less time searching and more time throwing.
Game passes worth knowing about
TableThere are three game passes. None of them are available through codes — coins are the only thing that can be earned for free, and they come from slot machines. On mobile, Farther Reach is especially worth considering because the extended range makes touch controls noticeably easier.
| Farther Reach | extends your grab range from 20 to 30 studs, making distant objects and players reachable; also improves the feel of mobile controls |
| Escape Faster | increases how quickly you break free when another player grabs you |
| Earn More Coins | adds a flat 50-coin bonus to every slot machine spin |

Common questions
FAQCan I earn coins without using slot machines?
No — slot machines are the only source of coins in the game. There are multiple machines on the map, so rotating through all of them every fifteen minutes keeps you spinning regularly. The Earn More Coins game pass adds 50 bonus coins to each spin.
How do I deal damage to other players?
The most common method is flinging someone into one of the two venom pits under the factory building, where the purple liquid deals continuous damage. Moving around while inside a pit makes the damage worse.
How do I join the same server as a friend?
Use the Roblox friends list to find your friend's session and click to join it. Once you are both in the same server, one of you can claim a private plot and use it as a meeting point.
Are there any codes to redeem?
The game does not have a code redemption system, so there are no codes to enter. Coins from slot machines are the only free reward available right now.
When does the anniversary event happen?
The event runs each year on June 16, the game's release anniversary. Past events have included doubled slot machine rewards, game passes at a discount, and new furniture and instruments added to the Toy Shop.
