Experience requirements for each rank
TableRanks unlock in a fixed order — you cannot skip ahead. Each one has an Experience threshold you must hit before the theory quiz even becomes available. Supervisor and Signaller ranks require a Discord application on top of the in-game steps, which also means players under 13 cannot progress past Guard.
| Qualified Driver | 120 Experience, plus group membership. |
| Dispatcher | 360 Experience, plus Qualified Driver rank. |
| Guard | 540 Experience, plus Dispatcher rank. |
| Signaller / Supervisor | Discord application required, in addition to in-game prerequisites. |
Driving safely — signals and AWS
WarnThe network runs over 800 four-aspect signals. When a signal ahead is not clear, the Automatic Warning System (AWS) puts a yellow circle on your screen and plays a loud beep. You must click or tap it within six seconds to acknowledge the warning and start slowing down. If you miss the acknowledgement or pass a red signal without stopping, the Train Protection and Warning System (TPWS) fires the emergency brake and brings your train to an immediate halt. Approaching an amber signal, you should reduce speed to 45 mph — that is the speed at which you can still stop completely if the next signal is at danger.
What each role actually does
TableSCR has six staff roles. Staff roles above Guard require extra steps to unlock.
| Driver | operates trains along routes. |
| Dispatcher | uses the headcode system to communicate priorities and solve problems. |
| Guard | supports the driver and the dispatching and guarding system. |
| Signaller | controls signals across the network to keep multiple trains moving safely. |
| Revenue Protection Officer | available via gamepass, added in version 2.4. |
| Supervisor | oversees staff in their corresponding rank to ensure they are working correctly. |
Fixing lag and performance problems
CheckIf the game lags when looking into the distance, the fix is in Roblox's own graphics settings.
- If the game lags when looking into the distance, open Roblox graphics settings.
- If you are on manual mode at level 10, drop it to level 8 or 9.
- If you prefer not to manage it yourself, switch to automatic graphics mode instead.
Training allocation and quiz cooldowns
SummaryThe allocation system lets you reserve a spot at a training session by selecting three-hour time preferences. You get notified ten minutes before the session and can join ahead of unallocated trainees. Using allocation is optional — you can also just show up at the session's start time. Failing the theory test locks you out of retaking it for three to five days depending on the rank.
- Quiz cooldown three to five days if you fail.
- Allocation optional, but reserves your spot and gives you a ten-minute early entry window.
- Unallocated entry allowed at the session's start time if you skip the allocation queue.
- Training communication all instructions now appear as on-screen pop-ups, not live chat.
- Under-13 limit Discord is required for Signaller and Supervisor applications, so those ranks are not reachable for players under 13.
Glossary
Glossary- AWS (Automatic Warning System)
- A system that displays a yellow circle on the driver's screen and plays a beep when a non-clear signal is ahead, requiring the driver to acknowledge it within six seconds.
- TPWS (Train Protection and Warning System)
- A safety system that triggers an emergency brake if the driver passes a red signal or fails to acknowledge an AWS warning in time.
- Headcode
- An identification code assigned to each train that Dispatchers, Guards, and Signallers use to communicate about specific services and their priority.
- 4-aspect signal
- A trackside signal with four possible states used to tell drivers whether to proceed, prepare to stop, or stop completely.
- Allocation
- An optional system that lets trainees reserve a spot at an upcoming training session by choosing three-hour time preferences in advance.
- Experience
- A value that tracks your activity in SCR and must reach set thresholds before you can sit the theory quiz for higher ranks.
- Private Server
- A separate server instance that gives all players inside it immediate access to every role without needing group rank or training.
Common questions
FAQDo I have to join the SCR group to play?
You can join and play without being in the group, but you will start as a guest. Joining the group automatically gives you the Trainee Driver role and opens the path to every other rank through training. For full access without training, a Private Server unlocks all roles instantly.
What happens if I fail the theory quiz?
A cooldown is applied to your account that stops you from retaking the quiz for three to five days, depending on which rank you were going for.
How do I avoid being stopped by TPWS while driving?
Watch for the yellow AWS circle and acknowledge it the moment it appears — you have six seconds. Start slowing down at amber signals and aim for 45 mph, which gives you enough stopping distance if the next signal is red.
Why can I not rank up past Guard?
Signaller and Supervisor ranks require applying through Discord, and players under 13 cannot access Discord, so those ranks are unavailable to under-13 players regardless of their in-game Experience.
