Getting started on Tutorial Island
StepEvery new player begins on Tutorial Island, where an NPC named Nancy walks you through the basics. She assigns small tasks that teach you harvesting, chopping trees, mining, crafting, and taming. Catching your first horse earns you a badge, and after that Nancy hands you a bridle and a saddle. Once her quests are done, head to William's travel boat to reach Mainland, where a short intro tour plays before you can explore freely. Nancy and Tutorial Island cannot be revisited after you leave.

- Craft a Lasso you need one to catch your first wild horse
- Tame the horse catching it earns your first badge and triggers Nancy's reward
- Collect the bridle and saddle Nancy gives these to you after the taming quest

Making the most of the Throwback Event
WarnThe Throwback Event was the game's 100th update celebration. It ran from August 14, 2026 to August 28, 2026, lasting two weeks. During that window, past event coats returned to the wild, including V1 Friesians, V1 Clydesdales, V1 Quarter Horses, V1 Paint Horses, V1 Appaloosas, and a wide range of previous event coats. Six new limited coats were also added — the Oldschool Celebration V1 Friesian, Celebration V2 Friesian, Golden Horseshoe Shire, Candy Heart Arabian, Holiday Holly Connemara, and Caramel Apple Appaloosa — along with the Oil Slick overlay coat that could be applied to any breed. Horses caught during the event carry a special Throwback Event tag that distinguishes them from horses caught in the original events. The event also scattered 100 Time Capsules across the Throwback Islands, each one referencing a specific game update.

Common questions
FAQCan I go back to Tutorial Island after leaving?
No — once you leave Tutorial Island you cannot return to it normally. Nancy also only appears there, so you will not encounter her anywhere else in the game.
What makes Throwback Event horses different from the originals?
Every horse caught during the Throwback Event carries a Throwback Event tag that sets it apart from horses caught during their original release windows. They also had the chance to spawn with rare attributes like Horns and Island Unique Hairs that were not possible in the original events.
How do I earn money without spending real cash?
Collecting resources while you explore and selling horses you do not need are both free ways to build up funds. Trading with friends is another option that costs nothing.
How do I find all 100 Time Capsules?
The capsule locations are the same for every player, spread across Mainland, Forest Island, Mountain Island, Lunar Island, and Wild Island.
