Map features worth knowing

Tips
In short Several maps have structures or vehicles that give you a major survival edge if you reach them first.

The maps span everything from small platforms to sprawling buildings, and the terrain shapes every decision you make. A few maps have standout features that change the whole strategy.

Tips worth knowing
  • On Airport, board the drivable yellow airplane and fly away from the map — most disasters only target the main ground area, so leaving the map entirely protects you from nearly everything.
  • On 7/11, the store interior shields you from milder disasters; step outside and watch the sky during the Pirate Zeppelin disaster to dodge flying objects.
  • On Australia, the small island sitting off the coast is safe from most disasters, which focus on the main landmass.
  • On Albuquerque, the indestructible New Mexico flag building and the structure beside it are solid hiding spots, especially during Flash Flood.
  • The Good Luck map is a tiny floating platform with no cover and nothing to interact with — there is nowhere to hide.
  • On the Pet Simulator map, the low elevation makes it harder to survive than it looks.

Disaster-by-disaster survival notes

Check
In short Every disaster has a logic to it — once you know the rule, surviving becomes a decision rather than a guess.

Some disasters require a specific response that is different from the general advice.

  • Acid Rain face away from the rain's direction and press against the opposite wall; avoid any blocks that have turned green because they can collapse under you.
  • American Bombardment get under indestructible terrain immediately and stay inside until the national anthem stops playing; hugging the map's edge while watching for jets and eagles also works.
  • Angry Birds get into a solid building; avoid the ship on Steamboat Isle and the rocket on Launch Base because the birds can destroy both.
  • Pirate Zeppelin stay outside and keep your eyes on the sky for falling objects rather than hiding indoors.
  • Wildfire note that as of the July 20, 2024 update, the fireballs deal more damage than they used to.
  • Nothing disaster this one no longer appears in public servers; it only shows up in private servers.

Common questions

FAQ

Is the airplane on Airport always worth taking?

For most disasters, yes — flying off the map removes you from the disaster's reach entirely. However, some disasters that actively follow surviving players can still catch you.

What should I do if I land on the Good Luck map?

Good Luck is a tiny indestructible platform with no cover, no shelter, and nothing to interact with.

Do the machine guns on Australia ever stop firing?

No — the machine guns on Australia keep firing even after they are destroyed. Head to the small nearby island for the safest position on that map.
