Bad Guy Mystery — The three roles and what they mean
About
OverviewBad Guy Mystery is a multiplayer Roblox game where every player is randomly assigned one of three roles at the start of each round: Good Guy, Protector, or Bad Guy. Your goal changes completely depending on which role you get, so no two rounds play out the same way. This guide walks you through what each role needs to do and how to get better at all three.

The three roles and what they mean
TableAt the start of each round the game picks your role for you at random, so you will cycle through all three if you play enough rounds. Good Guys need to survive. Protectors need to hunt. The Bad Guy needs to wipe everyone out.
| Good Guy | stay hidden and avoid the Bad Guy until the round ends |
| Protector | track down the Bad Guy and take them out to protect everyone else |
| Bad Guy | eliminate every other player, both Good Guys and the Protector |
Playing as a Good Guy
StepThe moment the round timer appears, your job is to get out of the open and into a hiding spot before the Bad Guy closes in. Staying in one place too long makes you easier to find, so be ready to move. The round has a set length displayed on screen — survive it and you win.
- Read the map as soon as the round starts, take a quick look around to understand the layout before you commit to a direction
- Find cover get inside a building or behind terrain that blocks the Bad Guy's line of sight
- Listen and watch if you hear the Bad Guy getting close, start moving to a new spot before they spot you
- Keep relocating switching hiding spots regularly is safer than staying put for the whole round
Playing as the Protector
TipsThe Protector is stronger than the Bad Guy in a fight, so you should be the one starting the confrontation rather than avoiding it. Cover the map and keep an eye out for Good Guys being chased, because rescuing them is also part of the job.
- Engage the Bad Guy without hesitation the moment you find them, since you have the combat advantage
- If you see a Good Guy being chased, head toward them and intercept the Bad Guy
Playing as the Bad Guy
StepAs the Bad Guy your target is everyone on the map, including the Protector. Good Guys will be hiding, so you have to actively search rather than wait. The Protector is tougher to deal with, so be ready for that fight when it comes.
- Scout the whole map work through each area so no hiding spot goes unchecked
- Chase down Good Guys once you spot one, stay on them until they are eliminated
Map awareness for every role
CheckThe map stays the same between rounds, so every game you play teaches you something useful for the next one.
- Know more than one way out of every area so you are never trapped in a single corridor
- Check whether any high spots give you a view of approaching players before you commit to hiding there
- Avoid narrow passages they are easy for the Bad Guy to lock down and hard to escape from
