Anime Squadron Guide: First steps when you start the game
About
OverviewAnime Squadron is a lane battler by Komplex Studio where you summon anime-inspired units and push them down a lane to destroy the enemy base. Your squad pulls from series like Dragon Ball, Naruto, and One Piece, and the game has co-op raids, ranked matches, and a story mode to work through. This guide covers how to start strong, build a solid team, earn free SS Tier units without spending Robux, and make the most of every resource the game hands you.

First steps when you start the game
StepThe order in which you do things in the first few minutes matters more than it might look. The Codes button only appears after you finish the tutorial, so do not skip it. Gems and Trait Shards from codes can go toward summons or trait upgrades, so you want them in your pocket before you pull anything.
- Finish the tutorial this unlocks the Codes button.
- Enter every available code copy and paste each one to avoid typos; the game needs an exact match including symbols and capitalisation.
- Change servers if a code fails new codes sometimes do not register on older servers, and switching usually fixes it.
- Do your first summons aim for Mythic rarity or above.
- Add Fastwagon to your roster this Economy unit generates Gold passively and needs to be in every lineup from the start.
Early-game priorities
CheckGold runs dry fast in the early game if you ignore the Perk system. Raising your Gold cap and Gold generation Perks early means you can afford the upgrades that matter later. Story mode has both Normal and Hard versions of each stage, and clearing both gives you the first-clear reward from each, so it is worth doing both runs rather than moving on immediately.
- Gold cap Perk upgraded early without a higher ceiling you cannot store enough Gold to afford powerful unit upgrades.
- Gold generation Perk raised alongside the cap passive income compounds over a full session.
- Story mode cleared on Normal then Hard each difficulty hands out a separate first-clear reward.
- Regular Challenge run every 30 minutes it resets on that timer and pays out Gold, Gems, and Trait Shards.
- Infinite Mode saved for the end of each session three daily boost reward bags drop Trait Shards and Cubes, and playing last thing before you log off means you do not miss them.
- Raid joined for evolution materials and Secret Gear the Raid shop also sells Perfect Cubes and evolution materials directly.
The six unit roles and how to balance them
TableEvery unit in Anime Squadron belongs to one of six roles. Knowing what each role does tells you where to spend Trait Shards and Gold and which slots you can afford to leave weaker.
| Main Carry | your primary damage dealer; the first unit that should receive Trait Reroll resources. |
| Boss Damage | built for high-HP targets; Madora is the top pick for raids and hard boss stages. |
| Economy | Fastwagon is the key unit here, generating Gold passively so your upgrades never stall. |
| Control | slows, stuns, and freezes enemies. |
| Support | buffs allies and adds durability; becomes more important the deeper into hard content you go. |
| Starter Filler | covers gaps early on but should be phased out once stronger units arrive. |
Free SS Tier units and how to get them
StepAnime Squadron is unusually generous to free-to-play players. You do not need to spend Robux to field some of the strongest units in the game. Madora and Shanron are direct rewards for clearing specific content, and Gometa is obtained through a Fusion quest rather than a summon.
- Clear Ninja Village Squadron Act 4 in story mode this hands you Madora at no cost.
- Clear the highest difficulty raid stage Shanron is the reward for reaching the top of the raid ladder.
- Evolve Goki (SSJ4) and Vegata (SSJ) once both are fully evolved, you can complete the Fusion quest to create Gometa without a single summon.
- Collect codes, daily rewards, quest rewards, group rewards, and catalogue rewards every session these stack up into enough Gems for extra summons over time.
Trait upgrade priority
TipsTraits are the single biggest multiplier on a unit's performance. Trait Shards and Perfect Cubes are spent to reroll them, and splitting your stock across multiple units at once is wasteful. Superior is the strongest trait in the game and the only one worth targeting first.
- Focus all Trait Reroll resources on a single Main Carry until Superior lands — DMG +200%, HP +300%, Range +30%, and Cooldown -15% in one trait.
- Only consider Cloner after Superior is confirmed — Cloner doubles the unit count, which pairs especially well with high-durability units like Gometa.
- Leave Fierce, Sturdy, Swift, and other traits until after both Superior and Cloner are handled.
- Never reroll traits on units below B Tier — the materials are finite and better spent elsewhere.
- Craft Devil Amulet and Devil Sword first among equipment, then chase Secret Gear through the Raid shop.
What to check when you are stuck
CheckIf a stage suddenly feels impossible or a boss will not go down, run through this list before assuming you need stronger units.
- Fastwagon is in the roster removing it causes Gold to dry up mid-stage and upgrades to stall.
- Trait Shards are going to one carry, not spread around splitting investment means no unit performs well.
- Madora is in the lineup for boss stages her boss-killing ability is among the highest in the game.
- Gold cap Perk has been raised a low cap prevents you from storing the Gold needed for expensive upgrades.
- Daily missions and Regular Challenges have been completed if materials feel short, these are the fastest way to restock.
- Recent major updates have not reshuffled unit balance after a large update, the strongest unit picks can change significantly.
Redeem codes
StepCodes give out Gems, Gold, and Trait Shards for free, and as of September 8, 2026 there are twelve working codes tracked for this game. They expire without warning, so entering them early is the safest approach. A single wrong character makes the whole code fail, which is why copy-paste is essential.
- Open Anime Squadron and finish the tutorial the Codes button does not appear until the tutorial is done.
- Click the Codes button on the left side of the screen it opens the redemption input field.
- Copy and paste the code into the field manual typing risks getting capitalisation or symbols wrong.
- Press the Redeem Code button a successful entry shows the reward on screen immediately.
- Switch servers if the code does not work new codes can fail to register in older server sessions, and joining a fresh server usually resolves it.

Common questions
FAQHow do I get Gometa?
Gometa cannot be summoned directly. You need to fully evolve both Goki (SSJ4) and Vegata (SSJ), then clear the Fusion quest that becomes available once both are ready.
Why is my code not working?
The most common cause is a typo — the game requires a perfect match, including every capital letter, lowercase letter, and symbol. Always copy and paste rather than typing by hand. If the code still fails after that, switch to a new server, since freshly released codes sometimes do not register in existing sessions.
When is the best time to play Infinite Mode each day?
Play it right before you log off for the day. Infinite Mode gives up to three daily boost reward bags containing Trait Shards and Cubes, and playing last ensures you do not leave any of those bags uncollected.
Can I build a strong team without spending Robux?
Yes. Madora is free from story mode, Shanron is free from the hardest raid tier, and Gometa is obtained through Fusion rather than the gacha. Pairing those with consistent code redemption, daily rewards, and Regular Challenge runs gives free-to-play players a fully competitive roster over time.
Which trait should I go for first?
Always aim for Superior on your Main Carry before anything else. It provides the largest single stat jump in the game, and chasing it on multiple units at once just splits your Trait Shards without finishing the job on any of them. Once Superior is confirmed, Cloner is the next trait worth targeting.
