Chicken Jockey — The two roles and how they work
About
OverviewChicken Jockey is a two-player co-op obby where one player controls a chicken and the other rides on its back through a course of obstacles. The goal is to work together all the way from the starting area through the Desert, Snowy Tundra, and Magma checkpoints to reach the final victory. This guide covers roles, communication, and how to push through each part of the course.

The two roles and how they work
TableEvery run needs one player on the chicken and one player riding it. The chicken controller uses WASD to move and the space bar to jump, and the rider goes wherever the chicken goes.
| Chicken controller | steers and jumps; every movement affects the rider too |
| Rider | sits on the chicken's back and gets a clearer view of what is ahead |
| Communication | the rider calls out the next obstacle; the controller acts on that information |
Getting through the early course
TipsThe opening section is where you lock in your teamwork rhythm. Sloppy habits here become real problems once the course gets more complex, so treat it as deliberate practice rather than a warm-up to rush through.
- Agree on the jump before you take it — the controller should wait for the rider's signal rather than jumping whenever it feels right.
- Favour small, precise movements over fast, wide ones; the rider's balance depends on it.
- If you get stuck on an obstacle, back off and approach from a different angle instead of forcing through.
- After a fall, take a breath before retrying — panic leads to the same mistake again.
- The rider should narrate constantly: 'gap coming up', 'platform to the left', and so on.
Three checkpoints and what to expect at each
StepThe course has three named checkpoints before the finish line. Reaching each one saves your progress, so a fall does not send you all the way back to the beginning.
- Reached Desert The first checkpoint. The obstacles here introduce the basic patterns you will see everywhere else; clear communication already matters here.
- Reached Snowy Tundra The second checkpoint. The course becomes more demanding; the rider's directions become critical.
- Reached Magma The final checkpoint. The game itself calls this the ultimate test; expect the most complex sequences of the entire run.
- Victory Once you clear Magma and reach the end, both players earn the win. Stay calm and keep talking all the way to the finish.
When you keep failing the same spot
CheckBefore retrying a section for the fourth or fifth time, run through these checks.
- Are both players agreeing on the jump before it happens, or is the controller acting alone?
- Can the rider actually see what is ahead, or is the camera angle blocking the view?
- Is the controller making small adjustments to speed and angle, or repeating the exact same approach each time?
- Is there a gap or alternate path around the obstacle that has not been tried yet?
Keeping the run enjoyable for both players
TipsBecause every mistake involves both players, it is easy for blame to creep in. These habits keep the session fun even when the course is fighting back.
- After a fall, talk about what to try next rather than what just went wrong.
- Frame suggestions as options — 'what if we go left here?' lands better than 'you went the wrong way'.
- If one player is clearly frustrated, give them a moment before starting the next attempt.
- The whole game is free to play and every stage is accessible without spending anything.
Glossary
Glossary- Obby
- Short for obstacle course — a Roblox game genre where players jump and climb through a series of challenges.
- Checkpoint
- A point in the course that saves your progress so a fall sends you back there rather than to the very beginning.
- Camera reset
- Resetting the in-game camera back to its default angle when the current view makes it hard to see what is ahead.
Common questions
FAQCan I play this alone?
No — the game is built entirely around two players, one controlling the chicken and one riding it. You need a friend or family member to play.
Where do we restart after falling?
You restart from the last checkpoint you reached, whether that is the Desert, Snowy Tundra, or Magma marker. You do not have to go back to the very beginning of the course.
We keep failing the same jump over and over. What should we do?
Stop and talk before retrying. Agree on a specific change — a different angle, a slower approach, or a clearer signal between the two of you — then try that one adjustment.
Do we need to spend Robux to reach the end?
No. Every stage from start to finish is playable without spending anything, and paid items do not affect how far you can progress.
