About

Overview

DUELS is a fast-paced PvP game where players are split into Murderers and Sheriffs and fight in solo or team matches ranging from 1v1 up to 5v5. Before each fight you pick a map and weapons, so every duel involves real choices before the shooting starts. This guide covers how to get into the game, how to pick maps and weapons, how to win more duels, and what rules you must not break.

How a match works

Step
In short Each match is short and structured, so knowing the flow before you load in saves a lot of confusion.

Every duel starts the same way. You step on a pad, choose a map, then pick your weapons — all before the fighting begins. Once those choices are locked in, you are randomly assigned to either the Murderer or the Sheriff side. The match then plays out at a fast pace, and because rounds are short you can jump straight into another one when it ends.

  1. Step on a pad find and stand on a duel pad to enter the matchmaking process.
  2. Pick a map choose the arena where the fight will take place.
  3. Choose weapons select what you will carry into the duel before it starts.
  4. Get assigned a role the game randomly puts you on the Murderer or Sheriff side.
  5. Fight the duel begins and plays out quickly.
  6. Queue again because rounds end fast, you can run many duels back to back.

Matching your weapon to your map

Table
In short Picking a weapon that suits the map's layout is one of the biggest edges you can give yourself.

Maps vary in size and shape, and that difference changes which weapon type works best. Ranged weapons let you threaten enemies from a distance, so they shine on open, spacious maps where you can keep space between yourself and your opponent. Close-quarters weapons need you to get in tight, so narrow maps give them a natural advantage.

Open map + ranged weapondistance is your friend; use it to pick off opponents before they close in.
Narrow map + melee weapontight corridors remove the ranged weapon's advantage and let you close fast.

Playing in team modes

Check
In short Team modes from 2v2 to 5v5 reward coordination, and the player who acts alone usually loses first.

When more players fill the map, the dynamics change significantly. Keeping your teammates in mind at all times is the core skill that separates good team players from frustrating ones.

  • Know where your teammates are before you push forward.
  • Focus on one enemy at a time with your teammates rather than splitting attention across the whole enemy team.
  • Support a teammate who is already fighting instead of looking for a separate engagement.
  • Recognise when you are outnumbered and fall back rather than dying alone.

Common questions

FAQ

Which mode should I start with?

Start with 1v1 solo matches. The format is simple — one opponent, no teammates to coordinate with — so you can focus entirely on learning the map layout, weapon feel, and role mechanics.

How do I get better at reading where enemies will be?

Play the same map multiple times. After a few matches you will notice that enemies tend to move through the same areas and hide in the same spots.
