Getting into your first game
StepWhen you launch Blockies, you choose how many players will be in your run — anywhere from 2 to 5. Once you have decided, create a lobby and share the code so your friends can join. The game will not begin until everyone is in. Level 1 acts as a gentle introduction, so use it to get comfortable with moving and jumping before things get tricky.
- Pick a group size choose 2, 3, 4, or 5 players and create the lobby
- Share the lobby code send it to every friend who needs to join
- Wait for a full lobby the game requires all chosen players to be present
- Use Level 1 to practice work on basic movement and reach the goal together
- Learn the freeze key press E once to freeze your character, press it again to unfreeze
How the freeze ability actually works
TipsPressing E freezes your character in place. Pressing E again cancels it. While frozen you cannot move on your own, but if you are standing on a moving platform when you freeze, that platform carries you along.
- One tap of E freezes you, a second tap releases you
- A frozen player on a moving platform travels with it
- Teammates can stand and jump off a frozen player as if they were a block
- Two or more players can freeze in a row to build a human bridge
- Call out your freeze before you press E so nobody is caught off guard
- If a section feels impossible, have everyone freeze at once to pause and talk through the plan
The 12 worlds and how difficulty shifts
TableThe 96 levels are split evenly into 12 themes of 8 levels each. Early worlds teach you the basics; later worlds demand tight coordination and precise timing. Every time you enter a new theme, expect at least one new twist on how freeze puzzles are built.
| Grass (1–8) | basic movement and your first freeze puzzles |
| Desert (9–16) | freeze timing starts to get tighter |
| Snow (17–24) | puzzles that need two players freezing together |
| Mushroom to Neon (25–40) | difficulty jumps sharply at the midpoint |
| Japan to Farm (41–64) | complex multi-step mechanisms become common |
| Playtime to Heaven (65–96) | the hardest stretch, requiring precise team coordination throughout |
What to check when your team is stuck
CheckBefore you restart for the tenth time, run through this list together. Because the game is designed differently for each group size, make sure your whole team is actually present before you conclude a section is too hard.
- Does everyone know where the goal is confirm you can all see the endpoint
- Are freeze presses synced try counting down aloud before pressing E together
- Is your full group in the game some sections need every player accounted for
- Has anyone tried an alternate route look for a second path before assuming there is only one
- Is someone making the wrong input double-check nobody is pressing an unintended key
Teamwork habits that actually help
TipsBecause Blockies requires at least two players and is built around coordinated action, communication is as important as any individual skill. A few habits make a real difference without requiring any extra practice.
- Hold a quick strategy talk before entering each new level
- Assign roles for the section — who freezes first, who goes ahead, who supports
- Announce your next action out loud before you do it
- Have one person call the timing for shared freeze moments

Common questions
FAQCan I play Blockies alone?
No — the game requires between 2 and 5 players and will not start unless your full chosen group is in the lobby. You need at least one other person with you.
Does the solution change depending on how many players we have?
Yes. Each group size has its own way of clearing stages, so a 2-player solution will not work the same way for a 4-player group. Build your strategy around the exact number of people in your run.
Is there a penalty for falling or failing?
There is no penalty at all. When a player falls, the team is sent back to the start of that level automatically. You can attempt any level as many times as you need.
Do we have to complete all 96 levels in one sitting?
No. The full run takes around 3 hours on average, and the game is free to play, so you can approach it at your own pace.
