Entry Point — Getting started
About
OverviewEntry Point is a stealth and action FPS where you join the criminal organization Halcyon to pull off banks, blacksite breaks, and hits on high-value targets. You can creep through every mission without raising a single alarm, or kick the door in and fight your way out — the approach is yours to choose. This guide covers how to get started, how stealth and loud play work, how to build your character with perks, and how to earn the best rewards from each mission.

Getting started — your first steps
StepWhen you first load in, you need to create an operative. Doing that earns you The Black Dawn badge and officially puts you in Halcyon's roster. Your first real mission is The Killhouse, a training exercise where you practice infiltrating a vault and getting out with the loot. The UP9 pistol is already purchased and ready to use the moment you create your character, so you are never going in empty-handed.
- Create your operative this unlocks your character and gives you access to the lobby.
- Check your loadout the UP9 pistol comes free; a suppressed version can be deployed for $250.
- Run The Killhouse it teaches infiltration, vault-cracking, and escape in a controlled setting before the real missions open up.
- Watch cutscenes without skipping the Rose cutscene awards the Road To Revenge badge only if you watch it fully.
Stealth vs. loud — how the two approaches work
TipsEvery mission starts in stealth mode. Guards patrol, civilians move around, and all security systems are live. If you set off the alarm, the mission flips to loud: civilians flee, guards arm themselves, cameras go offline, and enemy reinforcements start spawning. A handful of missions lock one approach — The Score is loud-only, while The Auction, The Gala, The Cache, Concept, and The Setup fail immediately if the alarm goes off.
- Stealth — guards patrol and can be knocked out silently; bodies and suspicious items must be managed carefully.
- Loud — reinforcements spawn; cameras become inactive as the camera operator no longer watches over them, and some security measures like door sensors or metal detectors stop working.
- Suppressed shots will not raise the alarm, but nearby NPCs can still react if they are too close.
- Some missions are stealth-only and fail immediately if the alarm sounds.
NPC detection — what guards notice and when
WarnEvery guard has a curved suspicion bar that fills while they can see you. At one-third full they turn toward you; at two-thirds they walk over to investigate and, on Operative difficulty or above, radio in; at full they crouch, call it in, then open fire. Each radio check-in permanently raises that guard's detection speed by 25%, stacking additively with no limit. Facing away from a guard slows their detection, and walking instead of running does the same.
Melee — knocking out vs. knifing
TipsPress V to switch between gun bash and knife mode; the icon beside your health bar shows which is active. In stealth, bashing is almost always the right call.
- A gun bash silently knocks a guard out and leaves their disguise intact — it works on civilians too, and does not count as a kill.
- Bashing does not work on armed combatants once the loud phase has started.
- The knife deals 300 damage but ruins a target's disguise if it kills them, which also kills your no-kill bonus.
- Knife attacks are slow and short-ranged.
- The Steady Aim perk lets you melee while sprinting, provided the weapon you are holding is mastered.
Building your operative with perks
StepYou earn one perk point per level, up to 75 normally or 100 with the Legends Gamepass. Every build starts with a class perk, which determines what actions you can take. You can add a second class perk to blend two classes, but not a third or fourth. Perks have no effect in Shadow War, PvP, or the Shooting Range.
- Choose your class Hacker (Prodigy) hacks computers and cameras; Thief (The Art of the Steal) picks locks, cracks safes, and gets a 50% disguise bonus; Mercenary (Combat Mastery) gets 40% more health and stamina plus the ability to hold two weapon masteries; Engineer (Demolitions Expert) can place C4, disable sensors, and takes a 40% smaller armor speed penalty.
- Combine two classes pairing Prodigy with The Art of the Steal gives you the Infiltrator class; Combat Mastery plus Demolitions Expert gives the Juggernaut; each combination has its own class name and blended ability set.
- Pick a weapon mastery Pistol Mastery lets you dual-wield matching pistols; Rifle Mastery cuts spread by 40%; Sniper Mastery lets bullets penetrate shields and bulletproof glass.
- Plan your XP the formula is 320 × (destination level squared minus current level squared), so the climb from level 50 to 51 costs 32,320 XP.
Difficulty and mission rewards
SummaryEvery story mission can be played on five difficulties.
- Rookie smaller XP and cash payout.
- Operative guards radio in during suspicion checks; required difficulty for silver (stealth) badges.
- Legend the hardest setting; required for gold badges (no kills, no alarm) and platinum badges on Night and Freelance Heists.
Badge tiers and special rewards
TableEach story mission has three badge tiers. Black Dusk and Ironman skip the stealth requirement for silver and gold — finishing on the right difficulty is all that is needed.
| Badge tier | How to earn it | Special unlock |
|---|---|---|
| Copper | Complete the mission on any difficulty and any tactic | — |
| Silver | Finish on Operative or above without raising the alarm | — |
| Gold | Finish on Legend with no kills and no alarm | Collect all gold story + Ironman badges for the Gold Aegis Mask |
| Platinum (Night / Freelance Heists only) | Finish the heist on Legend | Collect all platinum badges for the Phantom Aegis Mask |
Co-op and team roles
CheckMissions support up to four players. Because class perks gate specific actions — hacking, lock-picking, C4 placement — a team where everyone chose the same class will be locked out of entire options.
- At least one Hacker or Technician on the team for camera looping and computer hacks.
- At least one Thief or Infiltrator if the mission requires lock-picking or safe-cracking.
- Someone with Demolitions Expert or a combined class if C4 or sensor bypassing is needed.

Common questions
FAQCan I play solo?
You can enter missions alone, though they are designed for up to four players.
Do I need to buy the paid missions to get the Phantom Aegis Mask?
No. You do not have to own the Night Heist or Freelance Heist expansions to earn their platinum badges — you can earn them by joining the lobby of a player who does own the gamepass.
What happens if I drop a weapon on the ground during stealth?
Weapons are suspicious items. A guard who spots it will walk over and pick it up, which increments a shared counter. If that counter reaches five or more, the next guard who tries to pick up any suspicious item becomes alerted instead of picking it up.
How do headshots work against armored enemies?
All bullet weapons deal four times normal damage on a headshot, but armor is still applied — headshots do not bypass it. Aegis armored units have masks that reduce incoming damage to normal levels, but you can still land a full headshot by hitting the eyes, the sides, or the back of their head where the mask does not cover.
How do I unlock more perks after level 75?
By default, characters cap out at 75 perk points at level 75. The Legends Gamepass raises both caps, letting you reach level 100 and earn up to 100 perk points total.
