Roles and what each one does

Table
In short Every role covers a different part of the plane, so staying focused on your own job is the fastest way to keep things under control.

The game splits responsibility across three main roles. Voice chat makes it much easier to hand off tasks or call for backup.

Pilotsteers the plane and manages altitude toward a safe landing.
Engineermonitors the engines, manages fuel, and handles repairs when systems fail.
Flight attendantcalms panicking passengers, fights cabin fires, and handles medical situations.

02

The three emergencies that hit hardest

Warn
In short Engine fires, turbulence, and passenger panic are frequent causes of a failed landing.

These three problems appear in rounds. Each one can spiral out of control if nobody responds quickly. UFOs hijacking the plane and random hills appearing in the flight path add further pressure on top of these.

Worth watching out for
Engine fire spreads fast whoever has a fire tool needs to reach the engine immediately; leaving it burning leads to a game-over.
Turbulence drops altitude the pilot needs enough fuel left to correct the plane's path.
Panicked passengers hurt the pilot's ability to steer the flight attendant should focus on fully panicked passengers, not just anxious ones.

Party size and lobby advice

Tips
In short A two-player session gives new players a better experience than a full lobby.

The game recommends three to four players, but starting with just two cuts down the chance of someone joining to ruin the round.

Tips worth knowing
  • Two-player sessions are less likely to include someone deliberately disrupting the game.
  • Keep cargo crates stored in the toilet area so they do not block the aisle.
  • Calm fully panicked passengers before worrying about those who are only anxious.
05

Earning and spending Miles

Step
In short Cargo Run mode is a way to build up Miles for early unlocks.

Miles are the in-game currency you use to unlock planes and buy supplies. The BayKing Air 350 costs 2,000 Miles — its smaller size means less lag and a shorter walk to reach passengers in trouble.

  1. Play Cargo Run this mode is built for earning Miles.
  2. Buy cargo crates spend roughly one tenth of your Miles on crates, with survival crates being the strongest option.
  3. Sell at the next airport offload crates at your destination to turn them into more Miles.
  4. Save toward 2,000 Miles the BayKing Air 350 is a practical early goal because its compact size helps performance.
06

The supply shop

Check
In short The supply shop stocks everything you need to survive a round, and all of it can be bought with in-game currency.

You can visit the supply shop to pick up items. Your currency is limited, so decide as a team which items matter most.

  • Repair tools needed to fix broken onboard systems.
  • Fire extinguishers essential for handling engine and cabin fires before they spread.
  • Medical kits used by the flight attendant to deal with passenger health emergencies.
07

Health and safety reminder

Warn
In short The game's flashing lights and rapid camera effects are a real concern, so adjust your setup before you play.

The game warns that it contains flashing lights and rapid camera movement that can trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy and may cause motion sickness. It is currently in beta, so bugs are expected.

Worth watching out for
Turn down screen brightness if flashing visuals cause discomfort.
Brighten the room you are playing in to reduce contrast between the screen and your surroundings.
If a bug stops your round, leave and rejoin.
08

Redeem codes

Tips
In short Redeem codes give you bonus currency or items.

The game distributes redeem codes that can be entered for in-game currency or items. There are active codes available. Enter each code exactly as shown, since capitalisation and symbols matter. Each code can only be used once per account.

Tips worth knowing
  • Match every character exactly — a single wrong letter makes the code fail.
  • Use codes as soon as you find them because they can expire.

Common questions

FAQ

Can I play alone?

Land or Die! is built around cooperative multiplayer, so you will always be teamed up with other players when a round starts.

Do I need to spend real money to get anywhere?

No. Everything in the supply shop can be bought with in-game currency. Redeem codes can also give you a head start without any purchase.

The screen is flashing a lot — is that normal?

Yes, the game deliberately includes flashing lights and rapid camera effects. Lowering your screen brightness and playing in a well-lit room can reduce the impact. Stop playing and rest your eyes if you feel unwell.

How many players should I bring for my first session?

Two players is a good starting point. Smaller lobbies make it less likely that someone will join and deliberately disrupt the round.
