Steal a Chicken Guide: The core loop every new player must learn
About
OverviewSteal a Chicken is a Roblox game where you grab chickens from their nests, rush them back to your pen, collect the eggs they lay, and sell those eggs to the Merchant for cash. That money goes into upgrading your treadmill and expanding your pen so you can grow a bigger flock faster. Guards chase you the whole way, and other players can knock chickens out of your hands, so speed and smart routing matter.

The core loop every new player must learn
StepEverything in the game flows from one repeating cycle. Putting a chicken in your pen does not earn you money on its own — you have to collect the eggs it lays and physically bring them to the Merchant before any cash changes hands.
- Find a nest locate a nearby nest and pick up a chicken using the on-screen controls for your device
- Head straight home go directly to your pen without detours
- Wait for eggs once the chicken is in your pen, let it lay eggs
- Sell to the Merchant carry the eggs to the Merchant and complete the sale to receive your money
- Reinvest take that cash and put it toward a treadmill or pen upgrade

Events running now or coming soon. They have fixed dates, so check them first.
Staying ahead of guards and other players
TipsGuards start chasing you the moment you pick up a chicken, and other players can bat chickens out of your grip.
- Check which direction your pen is before you pick up a chicken, not after
- Choose a nest that fewer players are crowding
- Never stop to fight back while carrying a chicken; your pen is the only destination that matters
- If guards catch you repeatedly on a straight run home, your speed is the problem
- New chickens appear at nests every night
Treadmill and Trail upgrades for speed
TableThe treadmill at your base lets you train speed by running on it, and upgrading the treadmill itself increases how much speed each training session gives you. The Grey Trail also multiplies how fast you earn speed.
| Treadmill level 1 to 2 | costs 10,000 in-game currency and raises the speed you gain from each training session |
| Grey Trail | costs 25,000 in-game currency and raises your speed gain multiplier to 1.5x |
| Robux button vs. currency button | always check which button you are pressing before confirming a purchase |
When to expand your pen
SummaryExpanding the pen lets you house more chickens and earn more eggs at once, but an empty pen earns nothing.
- Pen has empty slots collect more chickens before spending on expansion
- Guards keep catching you prioritize speed upgrades over pen expansion
- Pen is full expand the pen or swap out your lowest-earning chickens for new ones
Moving to harder areas safely
WarnEach area has a recommended speed posted at its entrance. The Forest area requires a recommended speed of 45, while the Lake area requires 5,000.
Playing without spending Robux
TipsTreadmill upgrades and pen expansions all have in-game currency prices. The main risk is accidentally pressing the Robux button when you meant to press the currency button, so pause and read the purchase screen before confirming.
- Every upgrade has an in-game currency option
- Always read the purchase screen carefully before confirming; both buttons can appear together
- If a Robux purchase confirmation appears and you did not expect it, close it and re-check which button you pressed
- Younger players should ask a parent or guardian before any Robux purchase screen goes past the confirmation step

Common questions
FAQWhy am I not earning any money even though my pen has chickens?
Placing a chicken in your pen does not give you money directly. The chicken has to lay eggs first, and then you need to pick those eggs up and bring them to the Merchant to complete the sale. The earning step is the sale, not the placement.
What should I do when guards keep catching me?
Use the treadmill at your base to train, and consider upgrading the treadmill itself so each session gives more speed. Buying the Grey Trail for 25,000 in-game currency also raises your speed gain multiplier to 1.5x.
Another player batted my chicken away — what now?
Move to a less crowded nest, pick up a fresh chicken, and head straight home. Fighting back while carrying a chicken stops your momentum, so getting back to your pen is the better outcome.
Where do I enter redeem codes?
Use the code entry menu inside the game. Codes expire and can only be used once per account, so enter any code you have as soon as possible.
Does the game work on mobile and tablet?
Yes, the game supports desktop, console, mobile, and tablet. The controls for picking up a chicken differ depending on your device, so follow the on-screen prompts.
