01

How the game works

Summary
In short The player who has collected the most tiles when the round ends wins.

Tiles are scattered across the field, and walking over them collects them automatically, making your character grow larger. You leave a trail behind you as you move, and any tiles inside an area you enclose with that trail give you a bigger reward than picking them up one by one. You can knock out another player by running into them.

  • Tile a collectible on the field; walk over it to claim it and grow
  • Trail the line you leave behind as you move; enclosing an area with it earns bonus tiles inside
  • Bonus area the region your trail surrounds; tiles here reward more than open-field tiles
  • Size grows as you collect tiles; bigger players can knock out smaller ones on contact

Getting started in your first round

Step
In short Focus on steady tile collection and keep your distance from bigger players.

When the round begins, head straight for the nearest cluster of tiles. Walking over a tile collects it. Keep an eye on the relative sizes of the other players around you, and stay away from anyone noticeably larger than you.

  1. Move toward tiles walk over them and they collect automatically
  2. Avoid large players if someone is clearly bigger, move to a different part of the field and keep collecting

Winning fights and avoiding them

Check
In short Always compare sizes before committing to a collision — charging someone bigger than you ends your round instantly.

Combat in Paint.io is decided entirely by size. If you are bigger than your target, ramming them knocks them out. If they are bigger than you, the same collision ends your round. Before you chase anyone, take a quick look at how large they appear compared to you.

  • Check that your target is the same size or smaller before moving in
  • If a bigger player is heading toward you, move away quickly

Customisation options

Tips
In short Skins and trail designs change how you look but do not affect how the game plays.

Paint.io lets you equip different trail designs, skins, and images to personalise your character. None of these choices change your speed, size, or any game mechanic — they are purely visual.

Tips worth knowing
  • Multiple trail designs are available so your path looks different from other players'
  • Skins let you change your character's appearance
