About

Overview

Defusal is a Roblox game inspired by Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, where one player defuses a bomb and another reads a manual to guide them through it. This guide covers how the two roles work together, what the manual contains, and how to get started whether you're the defuser or the expert.

The two roles: defuser and expert

Table
In short The game only works if both players talk to each other constantly — one sees the bomb, the other sees the instructions.

When a match starts, one player faces the bomb and must physically interact with it. The other player's screen shows the manual instead of the bomb, so they cannot see what the defuser is dealing with. The defuser describes what they see, the expert finds the right section of the manual, and together they work out what to do. Neither player can succeed without the other.

How the manual is laid out

Summary
In short The in-game manual is organized by module, so the expert needs to know which module the defuser is looking at before opening the right instructions.

The manual appears on a computer screen that replaces the bomb view for the expert. It is divided into sections, one for each module found in the casual mode, including needy modules. Each section shows a picture of the module, its name colored to indicate difficulty, and an Open button that reveals the instructions for that module. The manual was updated in May 2026, which reworked some existing modules and added a large number of new ones, so older guides based on the previous page-style manual are now outdated.

  • Module image helps the expert match what the defuser describes
  • Colored name shows the module's difficulty at a glance
  • Open button reveals the full instructions for that module
  • May 2026 update reworked modules and added many new ones

Common questions

FAQ

Can I play Defusal alone?

Yes — in solo play, you can see both the bomb and the manual at the same time.

The expert's manual looks different from guides I've seen online. Is something wrong?

The manual was updated in May 2026, which reworked existing modules and added many new ones. Any guide or printed manual made before that date may show outdated instructions, so use the in-game manual instead.

How do we know which module to look up?

The expert can match the defuser's description to the template image shown in the manual. The colored name next to the image also indicates the module's difficulty.
