How a match works
SummarySix players enter each match. One of them is secretly the Killer; the other five are Survivors. The Killer can switch between a human form and a monster form at will, and each Killer comes with a unique ability that changes how they hunt. Survivors win by either repairing all the generators to restore power and calling the police, or by finding a stake chest and using it to take the Killer down themselves.
- Survivors repair all generators to call the police, or use a stake chest to defeat the Killer
- Killer blend into the group in human form, then strike when no one expects it
- Generators the main Survivor objective; restoring power triggers the police countdown
- Stake chests scattered on the map and hold items Survivors can use against the Killer
- Police arrival once called, Survivors must stay alive until they reach the match
- Unique Killer ability each Killer has a different hunt style, so expect the unexpected
Surviving as a Survivor
TipsYou have two paths to victory: finish the generators or defeat the Killer with a stake. Observe how other players move and act, because the Killer's behavior will eventually give them away.
- Watch for how other players move and act.
- If the police countdown has started, surviving until they arrive is a valid win condition.
- Search for stake chests if your team wants to end the match by taking the Killer out directly.
Playing the Killer
TipsYour power is deception. You start in human form and look like any other player. Use your unique ability and your monster form to hunt Survivors.
