Getting started

Step
In short The first thing to do is catch a few bugs and sell them to get your first bit of cash.

Once you have a handful of catches, sell them to earn cash. That first sale gets you going and unlocks the First Sale badge.

  1. Catch your first bug this earns the First Catch! badge and gets the collection started.
  2. Sell a bug turn that early catch into cash so you have something to spend on gear.

What to do with caught bugs

Tips
In short Selling common bugs funds upgrades, but rare and mutated bugs earn you more money over time when stored in an enclosure.

Every bug you catch can go one of two ways: sell it immediately for cash, or place it in an enclosure where it generates money even while you are offline. Common bugs are best sold so you always have cash to spend. Rare bugs, mutations, and anything at Celestial or Supreme rarity are worth keeping in an enclosure, since they pay out continuously without you having to do anything.

Tips worth knowing
  • Sell common bugs right away to keep cash flowing for upgrades.
  • Store rare and mutated bugs in an enclosure for passive offline income.
  • Catching a Celestial-rarity bug earns the Celestial badge; catching a Supreme earns the SUPREME badge.
03

Gear upgrades and why they matter

Summary
In short Spending cash on gear upgrades is the main way to reach rarer bugs and new areas.

Your net and other equipment can be upgraded with the cash you earn from selling bugs. Better gear lets you catch bigger and rarer bugs, and it opens up areas of the world that you cannot reach with starter equipment.

  • Rarer bugs unlocked stronger gear gives you a shot at Celestial and Supreme rarity catches.
  • New areas opened upgraded equipment is what lets you explore locations you cannot enter yet.
04

Exploring new areas

Tips
In short Different parts of the world hold different bugs, so exploring broadly is the fastest way to grow your collection.

The world has multiple locations, each with its own set of critters. You will not find every bug type by staying in one spot. The game also hides secrets around the world.

Tips worth knowing
  • Each location has unique bugs.
  • Explore off the beaten path — the world contains hidden secrets and discoveries.
  • Filling out your collection of 300+ bugs requires visiting every area the game offers.
05

Catch milestones worth aiming for

Check
In short Tracking your total catch count gives you a clear sense of progress and marks real milestones in the game.

The game tracks how many bugs you have caught in total and awards badges at key numbers.

  • Reach 50 total catches for the 50 Catches badge.
  • Reach 100 total catches for the 100 Catches badge.
  • Reach 500 total catches for the 500 Catches badge.
  • Reach 1,000 total catches for the 1000 Catches badge.
  • Catch at least one Celestial-rarity bug and one Supreme-rarity bug to complete the rarity badges.

Common questions

FAQ

Should I sell every bug I catch?

Not every bug. Common bugs are worth selling straight away for cash. Rare bugs and mutations are better placed in your enclosure, where they keep earning you money offline instead of giving you a one-time payout.

Does the game earn me anything when I am not playing?

Yes, as long as you have bugs stored in your enclosure. Those bugs produce cash automatically over time.

What are Celestial and Supreme bugs?

They are high-rarity bugs in the game. Catching one of each earns you a badge — Celestial for a Celestial-rarity bug and SUPREME for a Supreme-rarity bug.
