About

Overview

Race Around the World is a Roblox competition game where teams travel through cities across the globe, complete challenges at each stop, and race to check in at a Checkpoint before the last-place team gets eliminated. This guide covers how a leg works, every challenge type, transport choices, advantages, and tips for the most common solo and choice challenges.

How a leg works

Step
In short Every leg follows the same loop: grab clues, clear challenges, and reach the Checkpoint before everyone else.

Each leg takes place in a different city. You collect clues from yellow and red clue boxes, which tell you where to go and what to do next. After clearing every challenge in the leg, you head to the Checkpoint and step on the mat to check in.

  1. Grab a clue open the yellow or red clue box at your starting point to find out where to go first.
  2. Complete each challenge finish whatever the clue asks before the next clue box unlocks.
  3. Move to the Checkpoint once all challenges are done, get to the Checkpoint and step on the mat to check in.
  4. Stay off the bottom the last team to check in can be eliminated.

All eight challenge types

Summary
In short Knowing what each challenge type demands before you reach it saves you from being caught off guard.

Challenges are the core of every leg. Solo and Choice challenges appear in almost every leg. Duels, Race Challenges, Team Challenges, and Checkpoint Challenges are less common but still appear regularly. Double Challenges and Final Challenges are exclusive to finale legs.

  • Solo Challenge one teammate completes it alone; if the same person does three in a row, the other teammate must take the next one.
  • Choice Challenge pick one of two tasks; you only need to finish the one you choose.
  • Team Challenge both teammates work together on the same task at the same time.
  • Duel two teams compete head-to-head; the loser waits for the next challenger, and the last team remaining gets a 15-second penalty.
  • Race Challenge multiple teams compete at once; winners move on and the last team left receives a 15-second penalty.
  • Checkpoint Challenge completed right at the Checkpoint location; finishing it teleports you to the mat.
  • Double Challenge two challenges back-to-back in one location, found only in finale legs.
  • Final Challenge like a Checkpoint Challenge but exclusive to finale legs; completing it sends you to the finish line.

Transport in each leg

Tips
In short The fastest vehicle varies by leg, so check what is available before you spend anything.

Not every transport type appears in every leg. Some legs have unique vehicles alongside the standard buses, trains, and taxis. Transport now appears physically on the road, so you walk to a stop and wait for it.

Tips worth knowing
  • In Alice Springs there are no taxis, so the train becomes the fastest option.
  • Agra has tuk-tuks, which are sometimes faster than taxis, but a taxi can still beat them.
  • At the airport, check all five airline counters when you arrive; a delayed flight cannot be delayed again.
05

Advantages and twists

Table
In short Pause and Rewind can be used against other teams; avoid finishing last so you never receive a Buffer.

Advantages appear at set points along the race route. Pauses and Rewinds are tools you use against other teams. Buffers are penalties placed on you. The Skip, which was awarded for winning the first leg of a round, is currently not available in the game.

Pausestops the target team for 30 seconds.
Rewindsends the target team back to redo the Choice Challenge option they skipped.
Bufferan extra task forced on whichever team finished last in the previous non-elimination leg.
Splitappears only at Choice Challenges and locks half the teams into each option; you cannot switch after choosing.
Pauses and Rewindsnever appear in finale legs.

Tips for common solo challenges

Tips
In short Having a plan before you start a solo challenge is faster than figuring it out as you go.

Solo challenges appear in nearly every leg. The strategies below come from the legs covered in the community guides.

Tips worth knowing
  • In the Agra market elephant hunt, search low spots like table legs and gaps between objects first; after a short time the elephants glow gold.
  • In the Alice Springs memory tile challenge, give each symbol a simple name and flip tiles in a fixed order — top to bottom or bottom to top — instead of clicking at random.
  • In Athens, press every green circle during the sprint and time your hurdle jumps carefully so you neither jump too early nor too late.
  • In Baguio, stop the moving bar as close to the target percentage as possible — landing within one percent earns 100 points, while wider misses earn 50, 25, or 10.
07

Choosing the right side of a choice challenge

Tips
In short Pick the option that matches your strengths.

Choice Challenges always give you two options. Neither is always faster — the right pick depends on what your team is good at.

Tips worth knowing
  • Agra — Electrical Energy suits players who can spin a control quickly; Chemical Energy suits players who can quickly spot the odd item in a list.
  • Alice Springs — Going Down is for duos who split the track-finding work; Going Up works for solo players or those more comfortable with obstacle courses. In a solo game, Going Up is faster. If solo in a duo game it requires 3 gold; if a duo in a duo game it requires 5 gold.
  • Athens — Philosophy can be shorter than Mythology if you find the book early, especially when you and a partner split up to search different wings of the library.
  • Brasov — Fictional requires jumping through a sequence to retrieve a key three times; Factual involves selecting chairs with invisible weight that add up correctly, with a 10-second penalty for every four mistakes.
08

Private server practice mode

Check
In short Private servers let you replay specific legs, and only the owner can change the settings.

The practice mode in a private server lets the owner set which legs appear and in what order before the game starts. Other players in the server cannot change these settings.

  • If you are the owner, set the leg list to include the cities where you want more practice.
  • If you are a guest in someone else's server, ask the owner to add the leg you want you cannot change the settings yourself.
09

Win badges

Table
In short There are six win-based badges in Race Around the World.

Each one requires reaching a higher total win count than the last.

Common questions

FAQ

What happens if I lose a Duel?

You stay at the Duel location and face the next team that arrives. This keeps going until only one team is left without a win, and that team receives a 15-second penalty.

Can I play alone, or do I need a partner?

The game supports both solo and duo modes. In duo mode, teammates share Solo Challenges and can split work in Team and Choice Challenges. Some challenges adjust based on team size — for example, in the Alice Springs Going Up challenge, a solo player in a solo game requires 3 gold, a solo player in a duo game requires 3 gold, and a duo in a duo game requires 5 gold.

How does the airport work between legs?

Five airline counters each have a random countdown and a random number of tickets. Walk up to a counter and press the button to claim a ticket. A delayed flight cannot be delayed a second time. There is also a slight chance of a flight being delayed by 5, 10, 15, or 20 seconds after its countdown finishes.

When should I use a Rewind on another team?

Rewinds send the target team back to complete the Choice Challenge option they skipped. Rewinds cannot be used in finale legs.
