SPECTER is a co-op horror game where you and your team explore haunted locations, gather paranormal evidence, and identify the ghost before it hunts you down. This guide covers how to survive your first matches, read evidence, use your equipment, and work toward harder difficulties and hidden secrets.
In shortGetting through your first match is mostly about staying calm, using your journal, and not wandering alone.
When you join a lobby as host, use the Setup button to pick a map and difficulty. Add items from your inventory before readying up, then wait for everyone else to ready before the match starts.

Tips worth knowing
No Spirit Box response and no freezing temperatures always means a Revenant or Shade.
Spirit Box response plus freezing temperatures narrows it to a Demon, Mare, or Wendigo.
Fingerprints with EMF 5 but no freezing temperatures always points to a Revenant specifically.
Fingerprints together with orbs always means a Poltergeist.
Sanity draining extremely fast during a hunt is a strong sign of a Phantom.
Ghost speed increasing as team sanity drops is a Wendigo tell.

Cash is awarded when you identify the ghost correctly. Vans and equipment both support upgrades, and you can buy your first van from the Daily Shop. Progressing through level milestones earns badges, with notable rewards at Level 100 and Prestige 10.

Arcade's Project A.R.E.S. easter egg unlocks The Doctor character, a note, and 10,000 cash.
