First steps when you load in

Step

Before you do anything else, sort out how your character looks. The game gives you a wide selection of accessories to choose from, so take a moment to put together a style you like. After that, walk the whole city to find out where the school, workplaces, and housing areas are. Knowing the layout makes every other part of the game easier. You can also pick up the tools you want to carry for roleplay at this stage.

Running a roleplay with friends

Redcliff City has no fixed story, which means you and your friends decide everything. Agreeing on a theme before you load in — such as going to school together, playing as a family, or working the same job — keeps everyone on the same page. The city has plenty of locations to use as backdrops: schools, cafes, and parks all give scenes a natural setting. Being open to unplanned moments is part of what makes this kind of game fun.

Free camera controls

In short Free camera is only available to the owner of a private server, and the controls differ by device.

The free camera lets you move the view independently from your character, which is useful for capturing roleplay scenes from interesting angles. You must own the private server you are playing on to use it — it does not work on public servers.

PC	hold Left Shift and press P to toggle free camera on or off.
Mobile	tap the button in the bottom-right corner of the screen to toggle free camera.
Private server	you must be the server owner for either method to work.

Playing without spending real money

Redcliff City is free to play, and earning in-game money through jobs is enough to buy houses and vehicles. The core experience of roleplaying with friends does not depend on purchases at all.

Jobs and earning in-game money are available from the start at no cost.
Houses, including high-end ones, can be bought with in-game money you earn by working.
Roleplaying with friends costs nothing regardless of what your character owns.
No part of the game forces a purchase on you.

Glossary

Roleplay (RP): Playing as a character you have invented, acting and speaking from that character's point of view rather than your own.
Private server: A server you rent so that only you and the friends you invite can play in it.
Free camera: A camera mode that lets you move the view around the city independently of your character, available only to private server owners.
Avatar customization: Changing how your character looks by choosing from the game's selection of accessories and equipment.
Tools: Items your character can carry and use during roleplay, chosen to match the kind of scene you want to play.

What should I do first when I start the game?

Customize your avatar, then walk around the whole city to find the school, workplaces, and housing areas. Once you know the layout and have a look you like, decide what kind of roleplay you want to do and start from there.

Why can't I use the free camera?

Free camera only works for the owner of a private server — it is not available on public servers. If you rent a private server, you can toggle it on PC with Left Shift and P, or on mobile with the button in the bottom-right corner.

How do I make roleplay sessions with friends more fun?

Agree on a theme before you start, such as going to school or playing as a family. Giving your character a clear background and using the city's different locations to fit your scenes makes the session feel much more alive.
