About

Overview

Madness: Project Nevada Remastered is an open-ended PVP game set in the Madness Combat universe where up to five players fight, take contracts, and cause chaos in a Nevada city. Dying constantly is part of the experience, so don't expect to win your first fights. This guide covers the controls, how to earn money, how Styles work, and which Styles to aim for first.

How money and contracts work

Tips
In short Contracts are a reliable source of income, and picking the right Style can stretch every payout further.

Two contract types are available: VIP contracts and 1337 contracts. Completing a VIP contract earns the Whistleblower Blues badge; completing a 1337 contract earns Elite Elimination. Beyond contracts, you can loot ATMs and safes around the map, and robbing the bank is another major payday. Building up bounty on your head unlocks the Delinquent badge at 1250 bounty and the Public Enemy Number One badge for accumulating a large bounty overall.

Tips worth knowing
  • 1337 contracts are accepted from inside Club 1337 — enter through the ATM entrance, then go through the door past the staircase
  • The Contractor Style puts an exponential multiplier on 1337 contract payouts, starting at double, so a high-bounty target can pay far more than the base $5,000
  • The Burglar Style raises the bank robbery payout from $30,000 to $40,000 and bumps ATM cash bundles from $100 to $300 and safe drops from $500 to $800
  • Depositing bounty money also increases your bounty, which lets you buy items from Club 1337 and the area behind the mall

Style system basics

Step
In short Unlock Styles in sequence by meeting XP and money requirements with the trainer at each Style's map location.

Styles are the game's class system. Each one changes your HP, stamina, and available abilities. You buy a Style from a trainer found at a specific spot on the map, and most Styles require a previous Style plus minimum amounts of three XP types: Fist XP, Blunt XP, and Blade XP. Unlocking any Style for the first time earns the Stylized badge.

  1. Farm Fist XP early as the Bystander (default), every Push gives 2.6 Fist XP
  2. Check prerequisites before grinding Champion requires Boxer, Boxer has no prerequisite; Breacher requires Fisher; Contractor requires Hitman; Doomed requires Deathwish; Joyful requires Gleeful
  3. Reach the trainer in person each trainer stands at a fixed map location, so knowing the landmark helps (examples below in the Style guide section)
  4. Reset to Bystander if needed visit Data & You and pay $10,000 to clear your current Style
  5. Earn the Stylized badge it triggers the first time you successfully unlock any Style

Joke Styles — what they actually cost you

Warn
In short Both joke Styles will get you killed repeatedly; Joyful in particular demands a grind that takes days.

Doomed and Joyful are intentionally designed to be impractical.

Worth watching out for
Doomed has 15 HP a single punch removes roughly 60% of it, and any hit dealing 20 or more damage kills you outright
Doomed's only real asset is absurd stamina (750) and a speed boost
Joyful requires every XP stat at 999 and $75,000 cash
The Clown Horn has roughly a 10% chance to trigger; when it does, it kills you along with everyone nearby
The Snubnose deals 65–75 damage per shot but has a longer draw time and reload than almost any other weapon

Badges you can actively chase

Tips
In short Most badges follow naturally from normal play, but a few require deliberate setups.

Several badges are easy to earn just by playing normally, while others need you to go out of your way.

Tips worth knowing
  • Party Time — join or form a group with other players in the same session
  • Stylized — unlock any Style for the first time
  • Elite Elimination — complete a 1337 contract at Club 1337
  • Whistleblower Blues — complete a VIP contract
  • Delinquent — let your bounty exceed 1250
  • Public Enemy Number One — accumulate a large bounty overall
  • No Contracts on MY Head — kill a 1337 contractor who has targeted you
  • You Vile, Vile Monster — kill a player who is currently doing a pizza delivery
  • Sugary Surprise — get a kill using a soda can
  • Barrel Roll-ed — kill someone with a physical barrel; the explosion does not count, the barrel itself must do it

Common questions

FAQ

What Style should I unlock first?

Push as Bystander to build Fist XP quickly (2.6 XP per Push), then unlock Boxer at Pumps and Iron once you have Fist XP 150, Blunt XP 50, and $5,000. Boxer gives you Trained Fists, a speed and damage boost from Rage, and a brief invincibility window from Bob & Weave. Deathwish is free but its 55 HP makes it very difficult for beginners.

How do I get the Barrel Roll-ed badge?

You need to kill someone with a physical barrel — the explosion from a barrel does not count.

Where do I find the Joyful Style trainer?

Use Ralph's Threads n' Treads as your landmark, then head to the strip mall next door and climb the ladder to the roof. You need Fist, Blunt, and Blade XP all at 999, the Gleeful Style already unlocked, and $75,000 in cash.

How do I reset back to Bystander?

Go to the location called Data & You and pay $10,000. This wipes your current Style and returns you to the default Bystander.

What is the difference between VIP contracts and 1337 contracts?

Both pay cash for eliminating a target and reward different badges — Whistleblower Blues for a VIP contract and Elite Elimination for a 1337 contract. The Contractor Style applies an exponential multiplier to 1337 contracts specifically.
