About

Overview

KF1 Karting is a competitive online kart racing game built around real kart chassis, authentic liveries, and more than ten tracks inspired by real circuits. You race against players worldwide, unlock faster kart classes by building up mileage, and tune your kart to suit whatever the track throws at you. This guide covers everything from your first race to the long grind toward higher-tier karts.

Getting the game running smoothly

Check
In short Sorting your graphics settings before your first race saves you a lot of frustration later.

KF1 Karting is still in beta and needs moderate to high PC performance to run well. If the game feels choppy, lower the graphics. Bugs and glitches can appear at any time, so if something goes wrong, reconnect or try reducing graphics further.

  • Check that your PC can handle the game by jumping into a short session and seeing how it feels.
  • Lower the graphics setting if you notice lag.
  • If a bug locks up your session, reconnect first before assuming something is broken permanently.
  • Remember the game is still in beta, so occasional rough edges are expected.

How kart classes unlock

Table
In short Every class gate is a mileage target, so every race you finish brings the next one closer.

Kart classes open up as your total mileage grows. The table below shows each class and exactly how many miles you need to drive before it becomes available.

Kart classMiles required to unlock
Cadet25 miles
Junior100 miles
Senior200 miles
03

Choosing the right kart for the situation

Table
In short Each class suits a different playstyle.

Once a class is unlocked you can switch between anything available to you.

Rental kartsavailable from the start.
Superkartsa higher-speed class once you have the mileage to reach it.
Drift kartsbuilt for players who want to lean into sliding through corners rather than gripping through them.
04

Grip, tuning, and tyre choice

Tips
In short Matching your tyres and setup to the track conditions helps performance.

The game uses a realistic grip system where wet tracks and cold tyres both hurt performance. Kart tuning and a tyre-change system let you compensate.

Tips worth knowing
  • On a wet track, revisit your tyre choice before the race starts.
  • Cold tyres perform below their best in the opening laps.
  • Use the tuning system to balance grip and speed for the specific track you are on.
05

Learning a track quickly

Step
In short Repetition on a single track teaches you the brake points and grip limits.

There are more than ten tracks in the game, each with its own layout and grip character.

  1. Pick one track and run it repeatedly.
  2. Focus on a consistent line lap after lap.
  3. On wet tracks, avoid aggressive moves when passing because the margin for error shrinks.
06

The mileage grind and long-term goals

Summary
In short Mileage never stops mattering — the badge milestones give you targets to chase well beyond unlocking Senior karts.

Beyond the three class unlocks, the game tracks your mileage through a series of badges that stretch from 25 miles all the way to 100,000. Each one is a concrete goal you can work toward across many sessions.

  • Old-Timer badge 1,000 miles
  • Hardcore badge 5,000 miles
  • Karting Addict badge 10,000 miles
  • No Life badge 25,000 miles
  • Brain-Dead badge 50,000 miles
  • God of All Karters badge 75,000 miles
  • Perimordia of All Karters badge 100,000 miles

Playing in the Official Karting League

Tips
In short The league gives you a team-based reason to keep racing.

The game includes an Official Karting League where you join a team and compete against others. It is entirely optional — you can race in standard online multiplayer without ever touching the league.

Tips worth knowing
  • Joining a team gives you shared goals that individual racing does not.
  • Your personal mileage keeps building whether you are in league races or regular ones.

Common questions

FAQ

How do I unlock faster karts?

Drive enough miles and the classes open automatically. Cadet karts unlock at 25 miles, Junior at 100, and Senior at 200.

Why does my kart feel slow at the start of a race?

Cold tyres deliver less grip than warm ones, so the first few laps will feel slightly sluggish.

Do I have to join the league to play online?

No — standard online multiplayer is always available without joining any team or league. The Official Karting League is an optional extra for players who want team-based competition.

The game is running poorly on my computer. What should I do?

Reduce the graphics level. The game requires moderate to high PC performance and lowering graphics is recommended if your PC is under strain.
