OverviewBake or Die is a survival game where you run a diner, hunt zombies, and turn their remains into pies to sell to townspeople. The challenge grows as tougher zombies — and stranger experiments from the Lazy Scientist — start showing up.

The three machines and what they do

In short
Every pie passes through all three machines in order, so understanding each one keeps your production running smoothly.
Your diner starts with a Grinder, a Mixer, and an Oven — these are the only pieces of equipment you have at the very beginning. Each machine handles one stage of turning a zombie into a finished pie.
| Grinder | crushes zombie bodies into raw ingredients such as fruits, vegetables, or zombie meat, depending on the type of zombie you processed |
| Mixer | combines one to six ingredients into a single raw pie, with more ingredients making a larger and more valuable result |
| Oven | bakes raw pies into finished, sellable pies; it can handle several at once and takes around five seconds or less per pie, which upgrades can reduce |

The production loop from zombie to sold pie
StepIn short
Running this loop reliably is the core skill the game asks of you.
The whole economy of the diner depends on repeating this sequence. Harder zombies unlock better ingredients, which produce better pies.
- Hunt zombies go out and defeat zombies
- Grind the bodies feed zombie remains into the Grinder and collect the ingredients it produces
- Mix your pie load one to six ingredients into the Mixer to create a raw pie; more ingredients means a bigger, more valuable pie
- Bake it place the raw pie in the Oven and wait; put multiple pies in at once to make the most of the Oven's batch capacity
- Sell to townspeople hand off finished pies to keep the townspeople happy

In short
The Blueprints Crafting Machine and the Vending Machine both extend what your diner can do beyond basic pie production.
Once you are comfortable with the three production machines, these two stations open up new ways to improve and sustain your run.
- Blueprints Crafting Machine 2000 accepts scrap wood or metal, converts it into recyclable fragments, then lets you craft defensive structures, storage containers, furniture, and other upgrades
- Vending Machine stocks consumable boosts that give temporary advantages

Glossary- Grinder
- The first production machine in the diner; it shreds zombie bodies into ingredients at very high speed.
- Mixer
- The second machine; it combines up to six ingredients into one raw pie, with more ingredients producing a larger and more valuable result.
- Oven
- The third machine; it bakes raw pies into finished goods and can process several pies simultaneously.
- Blueprints Crafting Machine 2000
- An advanced workstation that turns scrap wood or metal into crafting fragments used to build structures, storage, and upgrades.
- Serum
- A powerful substance the Lazy Scientist uses in experiments on various creatures, producing the tougher enemies you encounter as the game progresses.
- Raw pie
- The output of the Mixer before baking; it must go through the Oven before it can be sold.
Common questions
FAQDoes it matter how many ingredients I put in the Mixer?
Yes — you can mix anywhere from one to six ingredients, and a pie with more ingredients comes out larger and sells for more.
Can the Mixer be set to run on its own?
By default the Mixer is manually controlled, but it can be upgraded to run automatically.
