How a round works
SummaryAt the start of each round, one player is randomly chosen as the killer. Everyone else tries to reach the top of the stairs. The climbers win if any of them reaches the top. The killer wins by stopping them all before that happens. Rounds are short, so you get right back into a new one as soon as the previous ends.
- Killer the one player per round whose job is to stop everyone else from reaching the top
- Other players all other players, trying to get to the top while avoiding the killer
- Win condition (other players) at least one player reaches the top of the stairs
- Win condition (killer) every other player is stopped before anyone reaches the top
- Round length short enough that you can play many rounds in a single session

Tips for playing as the killer
TipsThe killer is always outnumbered. Controlling a narrow point on the stairs forces other players to come to you. The key is reading where the group is heading and getting there first.
- Wait at corners and narrow sections of the stairs
- Predict where other players are moving and cut them off before they arrive
- Remember that stopping one person takes your attention away from the rest
- If there are multiple routes up, focus on where players are heading
Tips for playing as an escaping player
TipsEscaping players have numbers on their side. When the killer is locked onto one person, that is the signal for everyone else to push forward. Playing with friends makes coordination more effective.
- Split across different routes so the killer cannot block everyone at once
- When the killer focuses on one player, use that moment to advance with the others
- Rush upward in a large group so the killer cannot stop all of you at the same time
- Play with friends for better coordination
What to check when you keep losing
CheckIf you are an escaping player getting stopped over and over, the most common reason is using the same path every time. If you are the killer and nothing is working, check whether you are actually holding a key point.
- Are you taking the same route every round as an escaping player? Switch paths to become harder to predict.
- Is your whole group funneling into one path? Spread out so the killer has to choose.
- As the killer, are you waiting at a bottleneck or chasing people around?
- Is your connection lagging? Check your network if movement feels off.
