About

Overview

Piggy: Intercity is a multiplayer open-world RPG set in Evalia, a world devastated by infection. You explore, talk to characters, complete quests, build a base, and play minigames — but every choice you make is saved permanently and shapes how the story unfolds. This guide covers how to get started, how quests work, how combat works, and what to watch out for.

Getting started — your first steps in Evalia

Step
In short The first thing to do is create a character, make your first decision, and finish the prologue before anything else unlocks.

When you join for the first time, the game walks you through character creation and then drops you into the prologue. Finishing the prologue — escaping the school — is how you get into the open world. After that, you can claim a base building plot and start exploring in earnest.

  1. Join the game character creation starts automatically on your first visit.
  2. Create your character this is your permanent avatar for that save slot.
  3. Make your first decision the game records it immediately, so read carefully before you pick.
  4. Escape the school completing the prologue unlocks the main open world.
  5. Claim a base plot once you are in the open world, find and claim a building plot to set up your base.
  6. Pin a quest if you are ever unsure where to go, pin your active quest so a tracker stays on screen.

How choices and save files work

Warn
In short Every choice is locked in permanently on that save file, so think before you answer any NPC.

Piggy: Intercity saves every decision you make — NPC conversations, quest outcomes, faction picks, and items gained or lost. You cannot undo a choice on the same save file. If a quest fails because you picked the wrong dialogue option, it stays failed. The only way to redo anything is to start a brand new save file from scratch.

Worth watching out for
Read every dialogue option before you confirm there is no take-back once you select it.
A failed quest is gone on that save file; a new save file is the only way to try again.
Losing an item through a quest choice for example, getting a character killed — means that reward is also gone.
You can sometimes avoid a bad outcome by lying to the NPC handing out the quest, but this depends on the specific quest.
03

Quest types and how to pick them up

Summary
In short Walk up to an NPC to trigger a quest, and pin it immediately so you always know where to go next.

Quests come in two types: main quests that push the story forward, and side quests that affect your reputation with other survivors. You get a quest by walking up to a character and talking to them. Some quests also require you to speak to additional characters partway through, which updates your objective. A few quests are locked until you finish a previous one first — for example, Bearing Arms cannot start until you complete Build a Base.

  • Main quests drive the story and are required for progression.
  • Side quests affect your standing with other survivors and can reward useful items.
  • Quest pin shows a permanent tracker on screen; remove it when you no longer need it.
  • Prerequisite quests some quests only unlock after another is finished.
  • Quest failure choosing the wrong response to an NPC can close a quest permanently on that save.
04

The faction choice at Shadewood

Table
In short Picking a side during the Bandit Raid at Shadewood permanently determines which quests become available to you on that save file.

During the Bandit Raid event in Shadewood, you must choose between siding with the Mayor or with Cutter. The two paths unlock entirely different quests and you cannot access the other side's quests on the same save file.

Mayor sideunlocks the Silly For Tilly quest, the Fright Seeing quest, and the Surgical Search quest.
Cutter sideunlocks the Desperado Dispatch quest.

Leveling up and minigames

Check
In short Reaching higher levels and getting perfect scores in the minigames are long-term goals worth keeping in mind as you play.

Levels are tied to individual save slots, not your account as a whole. The game tracks progress up to at least level 50 through its achievement system. Bowling and golf are two minigames in the world, each with multiple difficulty settings.

  • Levels go up to at least 50 milestones are marked at levels 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50.
  • Each save slot tracks its own level independently.
  • Bowling has multiple difficulty settings getting a perfect score on every difficulty is its own achievement.
  • Golf also has multiple difficulty settings clearing every difficulty with a perfect score is a separate achievement.
  • Hunting 50 infected and finding 50 items are two additional long-term goals the game tracks.
06

When you get stuck — a quick checklist

Check
In short Most stuck situations in Intercity come down to a missed prerequisite quest, a failed dialogue choice, or simply needing to pin the tracker.

If progress has stopped, work through these checks before assuming something is broken. Because choices are permanent, catching a problem early matters.

  • Is your quest pinned? pin it from the quest menu so the tracker shows you the direction to go.
  • Did you fail the quest? check if a wrong dialogue choice already closed it on this save file.
  • Is there a prerequisite you missed? some quests only appear after another specific quest is done.
  • Are you on the right faction path? quests tied to Mayor or Cutter only show up after picking that side at Shadewood.
  • Is starting a new save file the answer? if a failed or lost quest is critical to you, a fresh save is the only reset.

Common questions

FAQ

Can I undo a choice I already made?

No — every choice is saved permanently to that save file the moment you make it. If you want to try a different path, you need to create a new save file and start over from the beginning.

Does it matter which side I pick at Shadewood?

Yes — siding with the Mayor unlocks three quests (Silly For Tilly, Fright Seeing, and Surgical Search), while siding with Cutter unlocks the Desperado Dispatch quest. You cannot access the other side's quests on the same save file.

Do levels reset between sessions?

No — levels are saved per save slot and carry over between sessions. Each save slot tracks its own level separately, so progress on one slot does not affect another.
