How a match works
Summary
Kontra splits players into Attackers and Defenders each round. Attackers push into one of the two bomb sites on the map, plant the bomb, then hold that site until it detonates. Defenders block the entry routes and, if the bomb does get planted, rush to defuse it before time runs out. Winning a full casual match by reaching eight round wins pays out a flat 42 Kredits.

Round economy and buying gear
StepBefore each round starts, you open the buy menu and spend whatever funds you have on weapons, armor, and grenades.

Dust II layout and angles
Tips
Dust II runs on a three-lane structure — Long, Mid, and Tunnels — each leading to one of the two bomb sites.
- Long runs along the outer edge of the map straight to Bombsite A
- Mid connects T side to the center of the map and branches toward Catwalk, which leads up to Short A
- Tunnels has an upper and a lower path and feeds directly into Bombsite B
- Catwalk is elevated — using it lets you cut from Mid to Short A faster than going the long way
- CT Spawn sits under Catwalk, so defenders can quickly rotate to either A or B from there
- Bombsite A is multi-layered with central cover boxes, connected to Long, Short A, and primary attack paths
- Bombsite B is a compact site with cover boxes and a direct window overlooking the back site
Vertigo layout and fall risk
WarnVertigo is set on a skyscraper under construction and spans two floors. T Spawn and the initial attack routes sit on the 50th floor, while both bomb sites and CT Spawn are on the 51st floor above. The stairwells and Mid connector are the only ways to move between levels, so whoever controls those areas controls how fast each team can rotate.
Promo codes and how to redeem them
StepPromo codes give you free Kredits, weapon crates, stickers, and exclusive badges. Every code has a strict use cap — anywhere from 250 to 2,000 total redemptions — and most require between 30 and 90 minutes of playtime before the game will accept them. Check the Discord server regularly, especially when the game hits a milestone or ships an update.
- Launch Kontra you must be in-game to redeem
- Tap the gift icon it is the Rewards button in the top-right corner of the screen
- Select PROMOCODES this opens the code entry tab
- Paste and submit enter your code and confirm
- Meet the playtime requirement first codes with a 30- or 60-minute requirement will be rejected if you have not logged enough time yet
Game modes added so far
Tips
The Halloween 2026 update introduced two new modes on top of the standard competitive format. Juggernaut Mode pits one heavily armored player against everyone else in the lobby. Uncompetitive Mode runs with relaxed round rules.

Cosmetics and what they do
CheckKredits earned in matches can be spent on cases or used to buy cosmetics directly. There are three main categories to collect.
- Weapon skins change the look of rifles, sniper rifles, pistols, and SMGs no effect on stats
- Knives replace the default melee model with one of four types Balisong, Cleaver, Karambit, or Shadow Daggers, each with unique inspect animations and multiple finish options
- Badges appear on your profile and reflect achievements, early access participation, or community contributions
- Roblox Premium members get a 10% discount on all Kredits purchases and receive the Plus badge

- The in-game currency you earn from every match, used to open cases and buy cosmetics.

- One of two marked areas on the map — labeled A and B — where Attackers plant the bomb and Defenders try to defuse it.

Winning a casual match by securing eight rounds pays a flat base reward of 42 Kredits.
Do weapon skins or knives make me stronger?
No. Skins and knives only change how your weapons look. They have no effect on damage, accuracy, or any other stat.
How do I avoid falling off Vertigo?
Keep away from the outer railings and scaffolding edges. Careless movement along those areas will lead to falling off the skyscraper.
