First steps when you start

Step
In short Hatching your free starter eggs and equipping the strongest pets you have is the fastest way to build an early team.

When you first load in, work through the tutorial all the way to the end. The free eggs you receive early on give you your first set of pets without spending anything. Once pets are on your team, they collect coins and treasure on their own. Check the Rank Quests displayed on the right side of the screen early — they point you toward the next thing to do.

  1. Finish the tutorial rewards come in and the basic controls click into place.
  2. Crack open your free starter eggs this gets your first team together without spending coins.
  3. Equip the strongest pets you have owning a pet does nothing until it is on the field.
  4. Place pets on the field they break objects and collect coins automatically while you explore.
  5. Collect free daily rewards the presents and reward boxes you get on login are easy to miss but worth grabbing.

Moving through areas efficiently

Tips
In short Pushing into new areas rather than farming the same one is the fastest path to stronger pets.

A common early mistake is spending too long hatching eggs in one area waiting for a rare pet. The better rhythm is to hatch a few eggs, move forward, hatch a few more, and keep going. Spend coins on area unlocks and pet upgrades rather than saving them up.

Tips worth knowing
  • Unlock areas in order — each new area connects to stronger pets and faster coin income.
  • Focus on the latest area's eggs — grinding old areas too long slows you down.
  • If your breaking speed drops off, update your pets — that is the signal your team needs a refresh.
  • Spend coins on area unlocks and pet updates rather than hoarding them.

The Mastery system

Tips
In short Mastery rewards you with permanent buffs for doing things you are already doing.

Mastery unlocks after you rebirth four times. There are 14 mastery types, each tied to a different activity — hatching eggs, fishing, breaking objects, fusing pets, and more. Every mastery you raise to level 99 earns you a cosmetic cape for that skill. Getting all 14 to level 99 unlocks a Master Skill Cape that adds a permanent +10% to diamonds earned, and that bonus stays active even if you are not wearing the cape.

Tips worth knowing
  • Mastery becomes available only after your fourth rebirth.
  • Each of the 14 mastery types levels up through its own activities — the Eggs mastery grows when you hatch eggs, the Fishing mastery grows when you fish, and so on.
  • Being in a clan with its Clan Boost at level 6 or higher adds an extra 10% mastery XP to everything you do.
  • Mastery XP Potions hand you 10,000 XP for a mastery of your choice, or 11,000 XP if your clan boost is level 6 or higher.
  • An Ultra Mastery XP Potion skips the grind entirely and instantly maxes one mastery to level 99.
  • If new masteries are added after you max them all, the Master Skill Cape is removed until you max the new ones too.

What to check when progress stalls

Check
In short When you slow down, the cause is almost always one of these basics being overlooked.

Pet Simulator 99 has several systems running at once, and letting any of them fall behind can bring your progress to a crawl. Go through this list whenever something feels off. If none of these fix it, spend some time in an earlier area collecting coins and pick up any free rewards you have missed.

  • Are you equipping the strongest pets from the latest area you have unlocked?
  • Have you expanded your pet equipment slots by raising your rank?
  • Are you keeping up with Rank Quests, or have they piled up?
  • Are you eligible for a rebirth but have not done it yet?
  • Have you collected all available potions and free login rewards?

Common questions

FAQ

What should I do first?

Have your pets break objects to collect coins, then spend those coins on eggs to get new pets. Every time you get a new pet, check that you have your strongest ones equipped, and keep pushing into new areas rather than farming one spot for too long.

Does rebirthing make me weaker?

It can feel that way at first, but rebirth hands you permanent upgrades and unlocked features that make you stronger in the long run.

When does Mastery unlock and why does it matter?

Mastery opens up after you have rebirthed four times. Reaching level 99 in all 14 masteries gives you a +10% diamond bonus that is always active, even without the cape equipped.
