SharkBite 2 is a survival game where one player controls a massive shark and everyone else tries to survive on boats, armed with weapons. You can buy better boats and guns with Shark Teeth, or design your own boat from scratch in the Boat Builder. This guide covers how rounds work, how to survive as a player, how to win as the shark, and how to get ahead faster.
In shortKnowing the round structure helps you make smart decisions from the first second to the last.
Every round starts with a boat-choosing screen where you pick your own boat or hop onto someone else's. Survivors get a ten-second head start on the water before the shark is released. From that point, survivors must either outlast the timer or kill the shark, while the shark must eat every survivor before time runs out. In Extraction mode, surviving the timer is not enough — you also need to board the rescue helicopter that appears briefly at the end, or the shark wins.
Choose a boatpick yours from the interface or accept an invite to ride with another player.
Use the head startget distance from the spawn point before the shark is released.
Shoot the sharkhitting it earns you XP and bonus Shark Teeth on top of the survival reward.
Board the helicopterin Extraction, stay alert for the Chinook at the end and climb in before time expires.
In shortStaying mobile, staying together, and staying out of the water are the three habits that keep you alive.
The shark is faster than almost every boat in open water, so raw speed alone will not save you. Moving boats show a blue propeller icon that the shark can see, and players in the water show up as a red diamond — both signals make you an obvious target.
Tips worth knowing
If you are on a slow starter boat like the Ducky Boat, hide behind islands without moving so you produce no visible wake.
Get out of the water immediately if you fall in — the shark can see your position on its radar the whole time.
In Viral Infection, put distance between yourself and other players early, before anyone gets eaten and turns.
In shortDiving deep and using boost at the moment of impact is the core technique that makes the shark hard to counter.
When selected as the shark, you see a short tutorial on the basics. The shark moves forward on its own; use W-A-S-D or the movement stick to steer, and press Space or the green arrow button to boost. You are faster underwater than survivors are on the surface, and you can destroy boats by ramming them. Your health bar sits at the top of the screen and drops when survivors shoot you or you hit sea mines.
Dive deepswimming along the surface leaves you exposed to constant gunfire from every boat.
Attack from belowrise fast underneath a boat and trigger boost just before you make contact to destroy it.
Read the radarthe blue propeller icon marks moving boats and the red diamond marks survivors already in the water.
In Viral Infection, eat survivors aggressively early since each one you eat becomes another shark fighting alongside you.

Game modes and what changes in each
Table
In shortEach mode shifts the win condition or the setup enough that the right strategy in one can get you killed in another.
Modes are selected each round and change how you need to play. Standard is the baseline. The others all add a twist that either helps or punishes specific playstyles.
Standard
one shark versus all survivors on their own boats; the baseline experience.
Viral Infection
eaten survivors become sharks, so the threat multiplies as the round goes on.
Pass The Bomb
one boat carries a bomb that must be transferred to another boat by contact before it explodes.
Oil Rig Survival
no boats; everyone is on a large rig that the shark can break apart by ramming it, with a shorter timer than usual.
Extraction
survivors must board a rescue helicopter at the end of the timer or the shark wins even if it never ate anyone.
Roulette
your boat and weapon are chosen randomly, so you cannot plan your loadout in advance.

Common questions
FAQ
I keep dying to the shark no matter what I try — any advice?
Keep your boat turning constantly — a moving, weaving boat is much harder to ram than one going in a straight line.
Where do I enter redeem codes?
Open the Codes button on the lobby screen and type the code exactly as written, including any capital letters. Each code can only be used once per account and some expire, so use them as soon as you find them.
What is the best strategy when playing as the shark?
Stay underwater rather than swimming along the surface, where every survivor can shoot you freely. Dive under a target boat, rise fast, and fire off your boost at the last moment before impact to do the most damage. Use the radar to spot the red diamond icons — those are survivors already in the water and easy to eat right away.
