About

Overview

Great School Breakout is a first-person obby where you escape a school run by the world's most unreasonable teacher, Mr. Pickle. You dodge traps, solve puzzles, and avoid getting caught across two difficulty modes. This guide covers everything from your first run to the no-death challenge and both secret badges.

Your first steps in the game

Step
In short Starting on Easy and learning the controls early saves a lot of frustration later.

The game puts you in first person by default. If that makes you feel sick, tap the Eye Icon on screen to switch to a different view. Once you are comfortable, pick Easy mode and start working through the school. Dying carries no penalty, so treat every failed attempt as a free lesson in how a trap or puzzle works.

  1. Check your view if first person feels uncomfortable, press the Eye Icon before you go any further.
  2. Choose Easy mode play all the way through once just to learn the layout and the kinds of traps the game uses.
  3. Observe before moving scan the area ahead of you to spot traps before you step into them.
  4. Die freely there is no punishment for dying, so experiment and learn from each mistake.
  5. Stay away from Mr. Pickle if he gets close, run in the opposite direction or find somewhere to hide.

Easy mode vs. Hard mode

Table
In short Easy is where you learn; Hard is where you prove it, and it also holds an exclusive secret badge.

Both modes take you through the same school, but Hard mode has much more challenging obstacles and puzzles to solve. The skills you build on Easy translate directly into Hard. One of the two secret badges is locked to Hard mode entirely, so you will need to clear it eventually if you want everything the game offers.

Easy modefewer and simpler traps, straightforward puzzles, ideal for learning the game.
Hard modemuch more challenging obstacles and puzzles.
Secret Badge #2Hard mode only; you cannot get it on Easy no matter what.

Things to check when you are stuck

Check
In short Most roadblocks come down to a missed trap, a wrong puzzle step, or first-person sickness — all three are fixable.

When a section stops you cold, slow down rather than rushing through it again the same way. Most obstacles have a tell if you look carefully enough.

  • Scan the whole screen are there traps at the edges or above you that you have been ignoring?
  • Rethink the puzzle order are you trying the steps in the right sequence?
  • Check your view setting if first-person is causing disorientation, switch it off with the Eye Icon.

Finding both secret badges

Tips
In short Both secret badges reward players who leave the main path and look carefully in every corner.

There are two secret badges hidden in the game. Secret Badge #1 can be found somewhere in Easy mode, and Secret Badge #2 is hidden in Hard mode — it cannot appear anywhere else. Neither badge sits on the route you naturally follow to beat the game, so you have to go looking for them deliberately.

Tips worth knowing
  • Look high up and behind walls, not just at ground level.
  • Pay attention near puzzles, since the area around a puzzle mechanism can hide things that are easy to overlook.
  • Secret Badge #2 requires you to be in Hard mode; loading Easy will not work for that one.
05

The no-death challenge

Warn
In short Both Easy and Hard mode have a no-death badge requiring you to finish without dying or getting caught.

To earn either no-death badge, you must finish the entire run without dying or getting caught by Mr. Pickle even once.

Worth watching out for
No Death Badge (Easy) finish Easy without dying or getting caught.
No Death Badge (Hard) finish Hard without dying or getting caught.
06

Badges and what they tell you about goals

Summary
In short Seven badges cover every layer of the game, from a first clear to the hardest no-death run.

The game tracks your progress through seven official badges.

Winners Badge (Easy) beat the game on Easy mode.
Winners Badge (Hard) beat the game on Hard mode.
No Death Badge (Easy) finish Easy without dying or getting caught.
No Death Badge (Hard) finish Hard without dying or getting caught.
Beat the Boss (Any) defeat the boss on any difficulty.
Secret Badge #1 find the hidden badge somewhere in the game.
Secret Badge #2 find the hidden badge available in Hard mode only.

Common questions

FAQ

First-person view makes me feel sick. Can I turn it off?

Yes. Press the Eye Icon on screen to switch away from first-person view.

I cannot find either secret badge. Where should I look?

Do I need to spend Robux to access any part of the game?

No. Every mode, both secret badges, and all no-death challenges are free. There are no paid advantages in Great School Breakout.

Can I play this on a console?

Yes, the game is console compatible, so you are not limited to PC.
