About

Overview

Choose An Ability is a Roblox PvP game where up to 12 players fight each other using unique abilities. There are 81 abilities in the game, and unlocking all of them is the main long-term goal. This guide covers how unlocking works, what the badges ask you to do, and how to get the trickier ones.

Two ways to unlock abilities

Table
In short Hits and Badges are separate paths to the same goal, so you can mix and match them depending on how you like to play.

Every ability you unlock comes through one of two systems. Hits are earned by landing attacks on other players in a match, and racking them up is the most straightforward route. Badges reward specific tasks, and clearing them also opens up abilities.

Hitsland attacks on opponents during matches; the count builds automatically as you fight
Badgescomplete a specific in-game task; the badge unlocks when the condition is met

Badge tasks you can plan for

Tips
In short Most badges fall into one of three categories — combat streaks, map exploration, and NPC interactions — so it helps to know which type you are chasing before you start a session.

Many badges require you to do something specific within a single life, meaning you cannot die before finishing the condition. Others are one-time discoveries or interactions scattered across the map. Knowing which type a badge belongs to shapes how you approach a match.

Tips worth knowing
  • The Exotic sword spawns somewhere on the map every 30 minutes — if you want the Exotic badge, check the map regularly and grab it before another player does
  • Several badges need multi-kill streaks in one life with a specific ability
  • The Wind badge comes from helping the NPC inside the windmill
  • Feeding fish to a shark earns the Shark Tamer badge
  • Completing the obby earns Obby Pro
  • The Egg badge requires completing the 2026 Easter event, which is only available during that limited window

Hard badges and what they actually need

Check
In short The toughest badges all share one trait — they demand a high count within a single life, so staying alive is just as important as landing kills.

A handful of badges set a high bar that takes real preparation.

  • Wall Master needs you to use the Walls ability 100 times without dying
  • Chef requires eating 100 cookies in one life
  • Gravity Person demands 10 kills with the Gravity ability in one life
  • Ground Slammer, Bowler, and Platformer each need 3 kills with their specific ability in one life
  • Music Expert calls for scoring 20 on the piano ability
05

One-off badges worth knowing about

Summary
In short Several badges are purely situational and have nothing to do with your kill count, so keep them in mind as side objectives during normal play.

Not every badge needs grinding. Some are single interactions that you can pick up naturally once you know they exist.

  • Frozen Sword find and pick up the Frozen Sword on the map
  • Boxer beat Bob the NPC in a boxing match
  • Superior defeat the game's owner in a live match
  • Lava Hammer dip a hammer in lava and then get a kill with it
  • Zeus kill a player using electrical water
  • Sukuna get 3 kills with the Slices ability in one life

FAQ

I just started — how do I unlock my first new ability?

Jump into a match and start hitting other players. Every hit you land counts toward unlocking abilities automatically.

Where does the Exotic Sword spawn?

It appears somewhere on the map every 30 minutes. Explore the map regularly and time your searches around that 30-minute window.

Why did my badge progress reset mid-match?

Any condition that says 'in one life' resets when you die. This applies to kill-streak badges like Gravity Person, Ground Slammer, and Wall Master.

How many players can be in one session?

Each room holds up to 12 players.
