The core gameplay loop

Step

In short Every session follows the same three steps: beat a boss, grab the loot, upgrade your sword.

The whole game is built on a repeating cycle. You fight a boss, collect whatever it drops, then spend that loot making your sword stronger. A stronger sword lets you take on harder bosses, which drop better loot, and so the loop continues until you reach the top rank.

Defeat the boss use your current sword and push through the fight.
Collect the loot grab everything the boss drops.
Upgrade your sword spend the loot to raise your sword's stats.
Move up once your sword is stronger, challenge a harder boss.
