01

Managing gas and food

Tips
In short Keeping gas and food from running out is the core challenge of every run.

The game constantly pressures you on both fronts.

Tips worth knowing
  • Pick efficient routes so you cover useful ground without burning gas on detours.
  • Use food sparingly — collect it whenever you find it.
  • Always know the path back to a safer area in case your resources run low.

Dealing with wild animals

Warn
In short Fighting animals is not a winning strategy — keeping distance is.

The safari is full of dangerous wildlife. Getting too close can end your run, so your instinct should always be to create space, not to engage.

Worth watching out for
Do not approach an animal that is moving toward you back away and give it room.
Listen as well as look hearing an animal before you see it gives you time to move.
Before entering any area, check for an exit route so you are never trapped.
If an animal gets close, run to a safe distance rather than standing your ground.

Glossary

Glossary
Gas
A resource you must keep topped up or your ability to travel and progress is cut short.
Open world
The map has no hard boundaries, so you can explore in any direction rather than following a fixed path.
Survival
The game's core mode — you win by managing scarce resources long enough to reach the end and return home.

Common questions

FAQ

How many players can be in my world at once?

Up to fourteen players can explore the same world at the same time.

Should I fight the animals I encounter?

No — avoiding and escaping wildlife is the intended approach. Put as much distance between yourself and a dangerous animal as you can rather than trying to fight it.
