Getting started in The Block

Step
In short Once you're in, customise your avatar and check what's currently running before anything else.

All you need is a Roblox account — The Block is free to enter and open to everyone. When you load in, the first thing worth doing is dressing your avatar the way you want, because self-expression is the whole point of the space. After that, look at what events are active or coming up so you don't miss a show.

  1. Customise your avatar choose clothes, hairstyles, and accessories to show your own style.
  2. Check current events look at the in-game displays to see what's live or scheduled.

How live events work

Tips
In short Events happen at set times, so knowing the schedule is important.

Live events are the heart of The Block. Artists, celebrities, and characters from film and TV franchises perform on stage while you and everyone else in the space watch in real time. You can use dance moves and other in-game actions to join in and react during a show. Because each event runs at a specific time, only the players who show up in that window get to experience it.

Tips worth knowing
  • Check the in-game schedule so you know exactly when your favourite act is performing.
  • Use emotes and dance actions during the performance to react and join the crowd.
  • Events can involve artists and franchises ranging from musicians to Netflix series.
  • After an event ends, check the displays again for the next scheduled show.

The Drop Zone and limited items

Check
In short Limited UGC and real-world merch rotate regularly.

The Drop Zone is a dedicated area inside The Block where you can pick up limited-edition UGC items — clothing and accessories made by creators — as well as real-world merchandise tied to whatever event is running. Some items are tied to attending a specific live event, while others are simply available for a limited period in the Drop Zone itself.

  • Visit the Drop Zone each session to see what's currently available.
  • Look for event-specific items some are only handed out during or after a live show.
  • Check whether an item is free or costs Robux before you commit to it.
  • Real-world merch tied to in-game events sometimes appears alongside digital UGC items.
05

Free play versus spending Robux

Table
In short Every live event is free to attend, but some items in the Drop Zone require Robux.

You never need to spend anything to watch a performance, hang out with friends, or use emotes. Robux only comes into play when you want to buy certain UGC items or merch. Before you purchase anything, the price is always shown in-game.

06

Playing with friends

Tips
In short The Block is built for groups, and attending a live event together is a much bigger experience than going solo.

Because The Block is a social space at its core, almost everything is more fun with other people around. The in-game chat lets you stay in touch throughout.

Tips worth knowing
  • Use the in-game chat to coordinate during events.
  • Returning to the same events with the same group of friends makes each one more memorable.
07

Staying safe in a crowded social space

Warn
In short Never share personal information with strangers in The Block, no matter what they offer you.

The Block draws large crowds, which means you will run into people you don't know. Keep your personal details — your real name, school, address, or phone number — completely private. If anyone pressures you to visit an outside website or promises rewards for sharing information, ignore them and use the block feature. When something feels wrong, tell a trusted adult.

Worth watching out for
Never tell anyone your real name, school, location, or any other personal detail.
Ignore anyone who claims an outside site will give you free items or Robux.
Use Roblox's block and report tools on any account that makes you uncomfortable.
Ask a parent or trusted adult for help if a situation feels off.
