How the game works
StepWhen a race begins, clicking the screen is what pushes your speed up. A NextBot chases you from behind, and if it catches you, the stage is over. The flag at the far end of the stage is your target — reach it to count the race as a win.
- Click the screen to build speed.
- Watch the NextBot keep an eye on how close it is so you know whether to click faster or hold a steady rhythm.
- Keep clicking slowing down or stopping your clicks lets the NextBot close the gap.
- Hit the flag run all the way to the goal flag to finish the stage and bank a win.
What winning does for you
TipsEach time you complete a race, your speed for the next one goes up. Reaching the very end of the backrooms is one of the two big goals the game sets out; the other is landing in the top 100 on the leaderboard.
- More wins give more speed.
- End of the backrooms — the final destination after clearing all stages.
- Top 100 leaderboard — the competitive goal alongside finishing the game.
Eggs, pages, pets, and monsters
CheckBeyond finishing races, the game tracks whether you have hatched eggs, found pages, encountered every pet, and met every monster. Doing each of these for the first time unlocks a badge, and completing the full set of eggs or pages unlocks a second badge. There is also a secret somewhere in the game, tied to a hidden badge.
- Hatch at least one egg to unlock the first egg badge, then work toward hatching one of every egg type for the second.
- Pick up your first page when you spot one, and then hunt down all remaining pages for the completion badge.
- Make sure you cross paths with every pet and every monster across your runs to unlock those two badges.
- Look for the secret the game hides something that rewards you with a bonus badge when you find it.

Common questions
FAQWhat happens if I stop clicking during a race?
The NextBot catches up. Keep clicking all the way to the flag.
Do I have to pay anything to reach the end of the game?
Every stage can be cleared through clicking alone, and the leaderboard is open to all players. Speed comes from winning races.
Does the NextBot get faster forever?
More wins give you more speed, and the stages become harder as you progress. The race between your speed and the NextBot's speed is what the whole game is built around.
