The three roles and what each one does
TableAt the start of every round the game assigns you one of three roles. Each role has a completely different goal.
| Murderer | eliminate other players |
| Sheriff | locate the Murderer and stop them |
| Civilian | collect as many Brainrots as possible while staying alive until the round ends |
Collecting Brainrots without getting caught
TipsBrainrots are items lying around the map that convert into money. Move with the Murderer's position in mind at every moment.
- Keep one eye on where the Murderer was last seen before you move into the open
- Stay close to other players when you can
- Survive to the end of the round
Escaping when the Murderer spots you
StepThe map has complex corridors and crowded areas that work in your favour the moment you stop running in a straight line.
- Duck into narrow or winding corridors instead of running straight ahead
- Head toward groups of other players
- Move the opposite direction from where the Murderer is cutting
Playing as the Sheriff
TipsThe Sheriff's role is to find and stop the Murderer. Civilians collecting Brainrots draw the Murderer, so position yourself near those areas.
- Station yourself near dense Brainrot pickup areas
- If there are multiple sheriffs, split up to cover different parts of the map
Base upgrades
CheckAfter a round ends, the Brainrots you collected turn into money you can spend at the base upgrade screen. Upgrading the base increases how many Brainrots you can carry. The game also has a Rebirth system for further progress.
- Spend earned money on base upgrades
- Upgrading the base raises your Brainrot carry limit
- Rebirth is available as a further progression option
Playing with friends
TipsMurder For Brainrots is designed to be played with friends.
- Compete within your group on total Brainrots collected each round
- Rotate who gets assigned as Murderer across rounds so everyone experiences every role

Common questions
FAQWhat happens to my Brainrots if the Murderer kills me?
The game states that dying to the Murderer means losing everything you collected that round. Surviving to the end is the only way to keep your Brainrots and convert them into money.
I keep getting killed as a civilian. What am I doing wrong?
Use winding corridors when you need to escape, stay close to other players, and survive to the end of the round.
What currency is used for base upgrades?
Brainrots collected during a round convert into money after the round ends. That money is used to upgrade your base, which raises your Brainrot carry limit.
