About
OverviewHell Rails: The Scary Train puts you in the role of a bartender working a shift on a haunted train. Your job is to spot anomalies, identify Mimics hiding among the passengers, and get through your shift in one piece. What you do during that shift determines which of four different endings you reach.

Three things every shift demands
CheckIn short
Every shift comes down to noticing what is wrong, figuring out who is not real, and surviving long enough to clock out.
The game gives you three clear tasks each time you play.
- Spot anomalies something on the train will be off; finding those wrong details is how you stay alive.
- Identify Mimics some of what looks like a normal passenger or object is not; learning to tell the difference is the core challenge.
- Finish your shift the ending you get depends on how well you handled the above two before the shift ends.
02
The four endings and what they mean
SummaryIn short
There are four possible endings, and every one of them reflects how you played your shift.
Reaching all four endings is how you fully experience the game. Dying before the shift ends earns the Memento Mori badge instead of any ending.
- Good Ending a hard beginning leads here.
- Neutral Ending the show goes on.
- Bad Ending a serious error during the shift leads to this outcome.
- Secret Ending conditions are hidden.
- Memento Mori not an ending but a badge: awarded when the train remembers you died.
Glossary
Glossary- Mimic
- A creature or object disguised as something normal on the train; correctly identifying Mimics is one of the three core tasks each shift.
- Anomaly
- A detail on the train that is wrong or out of place, which you need to notice in order to survive.
- Shift
- Your working period as the bartender; completing it is the goal, and how you complete it decides your ending.
- Memento Mori
- Latin for 'remember death'; in Hell Rails it is the badge you earn when you die before finishing a shift.
