About

Overview

Grow a Garden 2 is a farming game where you buy seeds, grow crops, and sell them for Sheckles — the in-game currency you use for everything from new seeds to garden upgrades. This guide covers the core farming loop, how to protect your garden at night, how pets help, and what to expect in Fall Harvest World.

The core farming loop

Step
In short Buy, plant, harvest, and sell — repeat this cycle and your Sheckles will grow.

Everything in the game flows from this one loop. The Seed Shop restocks roughly every five minutes. Once a crop is harvested it cannot be put back.

  1. Visit the Seed Shop buy seeds when the shop restocks.
  2. Plant your seeds place them in your farm and they will begin growing.
  3. Harvest your crops walk up and collect them; for multi-harvest plants, only the fruits are picked and the plant regrows more.
  4. Sell to the Sell NPC hand over your harvest and receive Sheckles.
  5. Reinvest put those Sheckles back into seeds, gear, or a garden expansion.

Night-time theft and how to stop it

Warn
In short Stealing only happens at night.

Stealing is a deliberate part of Grow a Garden 2 and can only happen at night.

Worth watching out for
Defense pets (Dog and Hedgehog) actively pursue thieves and recover stolen items; the Dog costs 50,000 Sheckles and is reachable without spending real money.
In Fall Harvest World, the night mechanic is more intense a randomly chosen player becomes a Werewolf with boosted speed and the ability to steal.
Hitting a Werewolf with a shovel turns them back into a regular player, but doing so puts you in line to become the next one.

How mutations change your sell price

Summary
In short Mutations can multiply what a crop sells for.

The sell price of every crop is calculated from its base value, size, any mutation it has picked up, how much it has decayed, and a bonus based on how many friends are playing on the same server. For single-harvest crops the mutation bonus is reduced compared to multi-harvest ones. Weather events like Midas's Luck and the Rainbow Event can trigger rare mutations. Some plants — including the Atlantic Giant Pumpkin — are immune to mutations entirely, and also do not need watering.

  • Base sell value set by the crop type.
  • Size factor bigger plants sell for more, but gains slow down past a certain threshold.
  • Mutation multiplier rarer mutations push this much higher.
  • Decay penalty the longer a harvested crop sits unsold, the lower the payout.
  • Friends bonus each friend on the same server adds a 10% bonus to the final price.
  • Single-harvest reduction mutation bonuses are scaled down for single-harvest crops compared to multi-harvest ones.
05

Picking the right pet for your playstyle

Table
In short No single pet does everything, so match your choice to the gap your farm actually has right now.

Pets are purchased with Sheckles and each one fills a specific role.

Dog / Hedgehogdefense; chases thieves and recovers stolen crops.
Squirrelauto-harvest; collects crops for you.
Turkeyseed finding; pecks the ground to uncover random seeds.
Swangrowth speed; pushes plants to mature faster.
Wolfpet recruiting; summons three to eight wild pets during a full moon.
Shadow Dragonmutation seeding; gives a 5% chance of a Veil mutation each time you plant a seed.

Fall Harvest World basics

Tips
In short Fall Harvest World is a separate game space with its own inventory.

Fall Harvest World was added in August 2026 and is reached by talking to Explorer Ethan. Its garden and inventory are managed completely separately from the main world. Pilgrim hands out daily quests, and completing them is how you work toward Cornucopia rewards. Magic Mail — available in Rare, Legendary, and Super tiers — is the only way to send items from Fall Harvest World back to Garden Valley.

Tips worth knowing
  • Talk to Explorer Ethan to travel to Fall Harvest World; your main-world inventory does not carry over.
  • Complete Pilgrim's daily quests every day you play in Fall Harvest World to earn Cornucopia.
  • Use Magic Mail before you leave if you want any rare items to appear in your main-world inventory.
  • The Werewolf system activates at night — any player can be selected randomly.
  • A Harvest Moon is a rare night event in Fall Harvest World.
07

Redeem codes

Tips
In short Codes expire and can only be used once per account, so enter them as soon as you find them.

The developers release codes that give free Sheckles or items. Codes are case-sensitive, so copy and paste rather than typing by hand. Each code works once per account and cannot be reused.

Tips worth knowing
  • Find the code entry box in the in-game menu or settings screen.
  • Copy and paste each code exactly — letter case matters.
  • Use a code the moment you find it; many have expiry dates.
  • A used code on your account cannot be entered again, even if someone else can still use it.

Common questions

FAQ

Can I play for free and still make real progress?

Yes — buying seeds, harvesting, selling, and expanding your garden all run entirely on Sheckles earned in-game. Defense pets like the Dog are also buyable with Sheckles, so protecting your farm does not require spending real money.

Why does my crop sell for less than I expected?

The final price depends on the crop's base value, its size, any mutation it has, how long it has been sitting after harvest (decay cuts the price), and whether friends are in the same server with you.

My items from Fall Harvest World disappeared when I went back to the main world — what happened?

Fall Harvest World keeps a completely separate inventory from the main world, so items do not move between the two on their own. To transfer something, you need to use Magic Mail before leaving Fall Harvest World. It comes in Rare, Legendary, and Super tiers.

What are Grow Plant and Grow All, and when should I use them?

Grow Plant skips the remaining growth time on one crop, while Grow All does the same for every crop and fruit on your plot at once.
